Respect Aspire Achieve – Be the best that you can be

5thDecember 2017

Dear Parents,

Carols at St. Peter’s Church, Roker

For the past few years at Christmas time, the school choir have performed evening Carol concerts at our local parish church, St. Andrews. This year, we have decided to host our concert at the historic St. Peter’s Church at Roker – the church is also part of our parish and we have established good links with them over recent years with our involvement in the Codex project etc.

We will be hosting one performance only on Thursday 21st December, 6.00pm start.

The service will tell the story of Christmas through carols and song, with some of our older children participating in readings. Each choir member/performer will be eligible for 2 tickets for adult family members. In order that we can begin to organise seating requirements, please return your ticket request byFriday15th December.

We will issue tickets of 2 per child/family in the first instance.Once everyone has their initial allocation, any spares will be available on request and we will issue further information week commencing 18th December. Siblings of choir members may attend without a ticket but please give consideration to the size of the venue, as we can probably only accommodate 200 people maximum sitting comfortably.

St. Peter’s is a smaller, more intimate venue than St. Andrew’s Church and we are thus anticipating that parents will be able to see and hear their child performing with more clarity than previous years; it was occasionally difficult to hear children when situated towards the back of the church. Due to the age of St. Peter’s Church, however, there are a few seats where the view may be restricted due to the position of the pillars, so please feel free to stand to the side or move to a better viewpoint.

We have negotiated with the University of Sunderland for you to be able to park in main Reg Vardy Centre car park which is near the church. Please note the information printed on the reverse of this letter and return it by the deadline.

Tickets are free; parents may wish to make a donation to our school charities instead and a collection bucket will be available on the night. It promises to be a lovely event and we hope you can join us.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs J Anderson
