Karel Bauer—Field Director/Director of Photography
Karel Bauer is an award-winning director of photography and a cameraman who has been creating high-end film and video imagery for more than two decades. After earning his BFA in film from NYU, Karel moved to Louisiana where he photographed and edited a highly-rated wildlife series for public television.
After moving to Seattle in 1991, Bauer established a freelance business with emphasis on documentary and corporate projects. His clients include Bill Nye the Science Guy, Rick Steve’s Europe, HBO and National Geographic, as well as several Fortune 500 companies and all the major US television networks: History Channel, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Television, A&E, VH1, MTV, Channel 4 UK, Nippon TV, NHK and ZDF Germany. Bauer’sfilm and television production has taken him to over 30 countries around the world. He has won numerous awards, including Tellies, Cine's and an Emmy nomination.
Sean White—Director of Photography
Sean White is an award-winning photographer, cinematographer and film director whose assignments and personal projects take him to all corners of the globe.His credits include National Geographic Television, Discovery Channel, History Channel, PBS, Outdoor Life Network, CBC, Sports Illustrated, Arena, GQ, Men's Journal, National Geographic Adventure, Outside Magazine and many others.
Sean is also an active paraglider pilot, rock climber and mountain unicyclist. When he's not traveling, he spends as much time as possible in his hometown of Victoria, BC, Canada.
John Greengo—Field Production
John Greengo is a native of Seattle,Washington and handles many of the behind-the-scenes responsibilities for theART WOLFE’S TRAVELS TO THE EDGE crew. As Art Wolfe's photography assistant, he's responsible for keeping all the photographic and computer equipment running smoothly, as well as shooting all the productions stills.
John has a degree in photojournalism from OregonStateUniversity and has been photographing his own adventures around the world for the last 20 years. As an avid outdoor enthusiast he enjoys running, biking, hiking, canoeing and kayaking, especially when they can be combined with traveling to a far-flung destination. Several of his adventures have been turned into short documentaries

that have been presented at various outdoor venues over the last 10 years.John is also a professionally ranked foosball player who regularly competes in national competitions around the country.
Gavriel Jecan —Field Production
Gavriel Jecan was born in Romania in 1962. He began his photography career early at the age of 10, shooting black-and-white with a Russian camera, often on hiking trips with his father in the mountains. His love of nature evolved into rock climbing, and Jecan competed on the RomanianUniversity varsity team.
In 1986, Jecan literally climbed his way out of Communist Romania, escaping to Greece and then emigrating to the U.S. In 1994, he joined Art Wolfe, Inc., traveling as Art Wolfe’s assistant. Jecan has traveled on all of the major trips that Wolfe has made worldwide since then. The quality and scope of Jecan’s shooting quickly gained him representation by two of the world’s largest international stock photography. Art Wolfe, Inc. also represents Jecan’s stock.
Jecan has participated in many of Wolfe’s books and shares cover credit with Wolfe on recent books, C is for Coyote: a Southwest ABC (Rising Moon, Flagstaff, 2000), Colorado (Sasquatch Books, Seattle, 2000). Jecan’s photos have appeared as cards and calendars worldwide as well as in books and magazines, including Megadiversity, National Geographic, Outside, International Wildlife, NaturFoto, and Terre Sauvage. His latest panoramic work has been featured in an international ad campaign for Hasselblad.
In addition to still photography, Jecan has taken up videography, shooting footage for the international adventure/instructional video “The Living Wild.”
