The Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex
Sex isn’t easy; relationship spokeswoman Sheila Gregoire prepares and encourages women for their wedding night and beyond
Grand Rapids, Mich., February 1, 2012 — Sheila Gregoire conducted two surveys of 1,000 married women each asking them to rate their current sex life on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being not-so-hot and 10 being fireworks. Results showed that only 5.3 percent of married Christian women, who were virgins until they got married, rated their sex life today between 1 and 2. In contrast, 15.7 percent of non-Christian married women rated it that way. And you thought bad girls have all the fun.
In The Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex author Sheila Gregoire explores why God designed sex for married couples and how we can reap all of its pleasurable benefits. Readers explore why sex is most important for the spiritual and emotional bonds, which in fact, can make the physical relationship even better. While many couples are focusing on the physical aspect, they are missing out on the real potential sex has and degrade it to be far less than what it was made for.
God created sex and celebrates sex. So why are many newlyweds unprepared for their wedding nights? Trendy romance movies such as The Notebook lead women to believe that the first time should be absolutely perfect and will be naturally and utterly satisfying. Gregoire shares how sex is rarely easy for women, and all too often we give up. Readers are reassured that sex is not something most perfect on their wedding night, it’s a journey that takes decades, and it should be fun practicing along the way.
The perfect engagement and wedding shower gift, or resource for any wife who is wondering what all the fuss is about, Gregoire offers advice and tips on: how good girls think about sex; how to understand good boys; barriers that prevent couples from enjoying sex; how to prevent and fix these barriers; how to crave one another and make sex even more meaningful.
Raised by a single mom, Gregoire grew up with rejection issues stemming from father figures walking out on her family. Coupled with a rocky engagement period with her now-husband, Gregoire started marriage with major trust issues—and thus major sex issues. Not content to let sex be mediocre, she threw herself into her own research project to figure out how to make sex breathtaking. Now armed with strategies and humorous insights, Gregoire helps those who are about to walk down the aisle learn about all aspects of sex, so they can enjoy a stress free honeymoon and a lifetime of great sex. And she points women who are already married to God's design for an intimate sexual relationship.
