A special meeting of the Board of Education of Madison Community Unit School District #12 of Madison County, Madison, Illinois was held at the Madison Accelerated Middle School Media Center, 1003 Farrish, Madison, Illinois in said District on the fourth day of August, 2008 at 6:00 P.M.
Members present: Celena Browley (arrived at 6:10 p.m.), Joseph Garcia, James Gardner, Jr., Carol Hamm, James Newsome, Steve Skoklo, Sonja Vauters (arrived at 6:28 p.m.)

It was moved by Newsome, seconded by Gardner that the Board of Education goes into
Executive Session to discuss Personnel Issues, Pending, or Threatened Litigation and Collective Bargaining Matters at 6:04p.m.;
Roll call: All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Newsome, seconded by Skoklo that the Board of Education return to Regular Session at 7:35 pm;

It was moved by Skoklo, seconded by Gardner that the Board of Education approve the contract to employ Dr. Sandra K. Schroeder as the District’s Interim Superintendent effective August 4, 2008;

It was moved by Gardner, seconded by Newsome that the Board of Education ratify Dr. Cullen’s July 22, 2008 acceptance of Donna Wasser’s, July 16, 2008, voluntary resignation from the position of School Social Worker at Madison Community School District #12;

It was moved by Browley, seconded by Newsome that the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Harris Accelerated Elementary School 3rd Grade teacher, Karen Schneider, effective July 21, 2008;

It was moved by Newsome, seconded by Hamm that the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of WIA Supervisor, Maria Muhammad, effective July 17, 2008;

It was moved by Hamm, seconded by Skoklo that the Board of Education table to terminate the employment of Angelique Brown, effective July 17, 2008;

It was moved by Gardner, seconded by Newsome that the Board of Education ratify Dr. Cullen’s July 30, 2008, acceptance of Angelique Brown’s July 17, 2008, voluntary resignation from the position of Special Education teacher at Madison Accelerated High School;

It was moved by Newsome, seconded by Browley that the Board of Education approve the hiring of Steve Carey as Madison Accelerated Middle School 7th Grade Science teacher effective the 2008 – 2009 school year;
