Worship Commission

MinutesMay 20th 2014

Attendance: Grace Sims, Jennifer Clacher, Jill Hall, Dan Hall, Kathy Rutkowski, Marlene Moening

Jennifer led the opening prayer.

Jill read the last minutes and they were approved.

Old business:

We discussed good information that we had found in becoming more familiar with the Mass. Jill shared that we, as descendants of Abraham, are called to love. Kathy suggestedSupper of the Lambas a good resource and she will bringThree-Minute Catechesisto the next meeting.

Marlene worked on the mission statement. The commission approved it. She also wrote the "goals and objectives". We discussed them. She will make the corrections and send them to Jill to forward them.

It was decided that we will use the evaluation forms individually and then discuss them at the following meeting.

Jennifer will "cc" her articles to Dan and Kathy and they will help edit them.

Dan said that the staff is aware that a census needs to be done.

Prayer cards will be passed out at Pentecost. Kathy and Dan agreed that something needs to be provided to help guide prayer. Marlene thought that "The Year of Prayer" would be a great time for that.

New business:

We discussed doing something in memorial of Fr. Leo's death.

It is important for us, as a parish, to stay focused, keep on the path and focus on the Eucharist. We need to find concrete ways to carry on and be cohesive.

Kathy suggested that a "family band" be put together for Christmas.

Fr. Wayne's article this week in the bulletin about the reasons for the removal and moving of the artwork in the church was very informative.

Dan said the staff is encouraged to attend "rebuilding" workshops.

Gary sent us an email with information about a workshop called "Building Vibrant Parishes" being put on by the diocese.
