internship requirements
Please check each box to acknowledge your understanding:
I understand Victim Assistance Program will conduct a background check to determine if
a conflict of interest exists which would prevent me from interning with the agency.
I understand that I may be reading about, hearing about and seeing disturbing sights
and/or stories about traumatic events and crime victimizations.
I understand that I must undergo intensive crisis intervention training before I will be
permitted to work with a victim.
I understand that I may not be able to gain experience in all of the above areas provided
by the agency however the agency will make an attempt to try if I am interested in helping.
I understand much of the learning process will continue throughout my internship
experience and will require patience and creativity in order to provide empathetic,
confidential, nonjudgmental services to individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
