  1. Introduction

Nancy Morganwelcomed everyone.

Tom LoBasso gave an update on the Tobacco Free policy draft, updates to the Planning Council, and the Tri-State employee conversion.

  1. College Updates

Erik Sweet spoke of the Academic Excellence Symposium to be held on April 27th, 8:00am – 12:30 pm, with presentations showcasing the College and the surrounding college community.

Harry Russo and Michelle McCraney announced the QEP debate to take place on April 13th, Bergengren Hall, Room 112, 10:30 am, and also live on Adobe Connect. After the meeting, the College may vote online for their chosen QEP.

Barry Gibson, Shana Deyo, Theresa Moore, Nancy Duke, and Andrea Reese gave a short presentation on Master Faculty I, II, and III.

Susan Antillon gave an update on the Employee Satisfaction Survey. Results were not surprising. Communication was a recurring issue. The results will be posted on the Portal under Institutional Research.

  1. Administrative Unit Review – Max Nagiel / Michelle Parker

The Administrative Unit Review Committeepresented two proposals. The first proposal was to hire an Admissions Office Residency specialist to assist with state statute issues. The second proposal was to convert testing room 108N in the Wetherell Center into two rooms to accommodate testing for students with disabilities. The Planning Council decided both proposals were not new initiatives and they be sent the respective AVP and VP for each area.

The College Life Committee hadno report at this time.

  1. Enrollment Development – LeeAnn Davis /Dick Pastor

The Enrollment Development Committee presented a proposal for the College to purchase Grades First software to aid in student retention and communication with students. The Planning Council supported the proposal by consensus.

  1. Faculty and Staff Development – James Greene / Harry Russo

The Faculty and Staff Development Committee hadno report at this time.

  1. Grants – Michael Flota / Ted Sofianos

The Grants Committee had no report at this time.

  1. Institutional Advancement – Gabriel Gomez/Judy Haydt

The Institutional Advancement Committeehadno report at this time.

The Institutional Technology Committee had no report at this time.

  1. Instructional Program Review – Jim Backer/Rhodella Brown/Nick Petropouleas

There were no reports from Constituent Heads.

Business/Conclusions:

Michelle McCraney presented the minutes from the last Planning Council meeting and, hearing no corrections, approved the minutes.
