Uniform Costs
A new uniform is available this year. Images can be viewed at: https://queenslandschoolsport.eq.edu.au/ (Clink on the link on the right hand side)
The 2013 uniform can be worn. However, we ask that students purchase the new short sleeve polo shirt for the team photo. Swimmers must have all pieces of the compulsory uniform (Section A) requirements. These can be from previous years or can be ordered on the Uniform Order Form. The sports back pack or back sack is now a compulsory item to be used on excursion and at the pool. Sports bags are also available for the pool. We ask that other branded bags not be used while fulfilling team commitments.
The estimated cost for the compulsory uniform will be approximately $179.95. Additional uniform costs will be at the discretion of the individual swimmer. Swimmers who accept this invitation must complete the Uniform Order Form and return it, with payment (credit card, cheque, money order) to Glenda Price by 9 April. See final page for details. Please ensure credit card details are correct and funds are available.
Compulsory Queensland Team Uniform must be worn at all times when at the pool or when travelling to and from the pool, as a competitor or spectator. Fluoro or bright coloured swimwear or clothing, slippers or ugg boots are NOT to be worn with or as team apparel at any time.
Please follow these guidelines for attire:
· Travel with team: Queensland Track suit coat and track pants, Queensland polo shirt, Queensland shorts, predominately white joggers/white canvas shoes, Queensland team socks
· Team photo: Queensland Track suit coat and track pants, Queensland polo shirt, Queensland shorts, predominately white joggers/white canvas shoes, Queensland team socks
· Excursion: Queensland Track suit coat and track pants, Queensland polo shirt, Queensland shorts, predominately white joggers/white canvas shoes, Queensland team socks and bucket hat

Team Togs
Swimmers are permitted to wear their own togs for individual events as long as they meet the Fina Guidelines for swimsuits. These togs must be plain maroon or a plain dark colour such as black or navy blue. Please ensure that adequate time and consideration is given to ordering swimsuits that meet these guidelines. No other fluoro or bright coloured togs will be allowed.
A new range of team togs by Aquadiva (see website for details) has been organised. If swimmers do not wish to purchase these, it is expected that they abide by the tog colour guidelines for training/warm up and swim down - plain maroon or a plain dark colour such as black or navy blue. No other fluoro or bright coloured togs will be allowed. This applies to both male and female swimmers.
It is preferable that swimmers, who are selected in relays, wear and compete in the Queensland team togs. Please arrange the purchase of these through the uniform order. A one-off order will be placed with Aquadiva. Togs cannot be requested once the order closes on April 9.
Team Photo
All swimmers will be required to purchase a team photo. No time has been set at this stage but we are endeavouring to arrange it for Sunday afternoon around 3pm.
Team Levy
Levy costs have not yet been finalised. However, it is expected that the maximum cost for students will be in the vicinity of $180.00. This amount will include competition levies, administration fees and excursion costs. A levy invoice will be emailed out as soon final costs are received.

All Metropolitan, Darling Downs, South Coast, South West and Sunshine Coast swimmers will need to collect their uniforms from Boondall State School. The collection date is Saturday, May 31. Independent Travel / Accommodation
The Queensland School Sport Swimming Team has been granted Independent Travel and Accommodation status. As such, individuals are responsible for all travel and accommodation arrangements and costs.
Team Travel and Accommodation
Team travel and accommodation is yet to be confirmed. Details will be forwarded as soon as they come to hand.
Code of Behaviour
Although much of swimming is an individual sport, swimmers have been selected as part of a Queensland School Sport Swimming and Diving Team and as such, must abide by the Qld School Sport Code of Behaviour and team rules. A Code of Behaviour applies to swimmers, parents, spectators and coaches. Please read these carefully.
Attendance
Unlike other states, we give our swimmers and their families the opportunity to do some sightseeing during their time away by giving permission for them to leave the pool when they are not swimming. This is a courtesy that Queensland School Sport gives to our swimming team and is not a general rule for all School Sports events. We could easily be instructed by Queensland School Sport to withdraw this privilege. Parents are therefore requested to ensure they take into account the following:
· Swimmers must check in and out each day. If they are not attending for one day, they must inform the manager in charge of team records the day before and check their contact number is correct;
· Swimmers must attend the Compulsory Activities as listed in the Team Requirements. Failure to do this may also mean exclusion from events and may affect future selection;
· Swimmers will only be able to leave the pool with their parent or registered guardian;
· Swimmers must sit with the team, in the team area, when at the pool;
· Swimmers MUST report to team managers before leaving for their event and the marshalling area. Coaches and parents need to be mindful of this and we would appreciate cooperation in this area;
· Parents, coaches and spectators are not permitted to sit in the team area during the meet; and
· As this is a School Sport Australia event, swimmers are under the direct control of the Queensland Team Managers and any requests to vary normal routine must be made through the Tour Manager – Mrs Glenda Price.
Excursion
The compulsory excursion day has not been announced. We will advise as soon as information comes to hand.
SSA program of events
The program of events is available from the SSA website www.schoolsport.edu.au/.
Queensland Supporter’s Gear
Queensland supporter’s apparel, supplied by Sportswear, is available for parents, family members and coaches. Please refer to the QSS website for the range of apparel available. Supporter’s gear orders need to be included on the back of the swimmer’s uniform order.
The Queensland School Sport uniform is only to be worn by students selected in a QSS team.
Coaches
At this stage, we are unaware of any arrangements for private coaches from Victoria School Sport. Should private coaches of swimmers in the Queensland School Sport Swimming team be allowed on pool deck at MSAC, they will also be under the direction of the Queensland Team Managers. They will be required to wear a Queensland supporter’s shirt. (Please place these orders with the swimmer’s uniform order. Refunds will be arranged if necessary). They will also be required to present their coach’s accreditation and current Blue Card Identification. Photo ID may also be required. We will advise team members of the arrangements for private coach access to pool deck as soon as it becomes available.
Queensland School Sport has appointed Darren Stewart to the team as the team coach. He will be available to assist with training schedules, as well as warm up and swim down procedures. Please provide copies of programs that swimmers need to follow, should this service be required.
Coaches should remember that all swimmers are under the direct control of Queensland Team Management and that any private coach’s request to vary normal routine is to be directed to Glenda Price.
