Type of Firm:A X partner Chartered Accountancy practice with international affiliations. It has a wide-ranging and extensive client base, including sole traders, partnerships and small to medium sized companies, in retail, wholesale, manufacturing and service industries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Management Accounts – Providing all management accounting services for an Irish based company with an average annual turnover of €x million with additional reporting obligations to the parent company on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Main point of contact for all reporting obligations, including IAS disclosure reporting on a quarterly basis.
  • Co-ordinating of activities, schedules and reports within our firm in order to meet these obligations.
  • Participated as a team member in the establishment of the accounting function for two new operating locations.
  • Analysing financial data and preparation of corporate reports and statistics detailing financial results to the operating location and to the parent company.
  • Reconciling inter company accounts on a monthly basis and liaising with parent company regarding inter company charges.
  • Preparation of schedules and analysis for management and external auditors.
  • Ensuring that the financial chart of accounts aligns to best practice and to group policy.
  1. Audit
  • Responsible for the audit of small/medium sized limited companies, franchisees, charities and financial services organisations.
  • Planning, co-ordinating and reviewing to partner level the audit of corporate clients.
  • Supervising and organising of an audit team to ensure that audit activities were carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Training junior staff standard audit procedures.
  • Reviewing and assessing clients’ internal controls, reporting to partner on weaknesses identified and making recommendations for improvements on the current system.
  • Setting budgets for assignments and ensuringthese are adhered to.

C. Other work

  • Preparation of PAYE/PRSI and VAT returns.
  • Preparation on Intrastat and Vies returns.
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Preparation of profit & cashflow projections for clients wishing to secure bank funding.

I have successfully completed Personal Computing for Accountants’ module which is a requirement for the admission to Institute of Chartered Accountants. I have a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Wordand PowerPoint) and have an excellent understanding of software packages including:

- Sage Accounts - Hyperion- Apex

- TAS Books- Micropay- Cisbox

I have an interest in sports in general but particularly Gaelic football.
