What is the TDT Network?

Every school in England is facing a huge challenge around school improvement and staff recruitment and retention. Hard-pressed senior leaders find it hard to find the time, resources and best expertise and teachers in England spend very little time on CPD compared to other countries.[1]

We know that powerful professional learning helps children succeed and children thrive.

Our mission is to enable powerful professional development for everyone. We support schools to enable their professional learning to have as much impact as possible.

TDT Network is a group of like-minded schools and colleges working to develop world-class professional development. It is run by the Teacher Development Trust, the national charity for professional learning in schools.

Core Network membership provides access to:

n  Up to date intelligence around CPD.

n  Networking opportunities and collaboration with other like-minded schools.

n  Tools and implementation guides for improving your CPD leadership and programmes.

n  Specific tools and guidance for Lesson Study and collaborative enquiry.

n  Free personalized expert advice.

n  Web-based self-audit and benchmarking tools to evaluate your current practices.

Our full audit process includes a member of TDT staff to visiting your school and giving bespoke, personalised advice and guidance for your CPD. You will receive a detailed personalised report, as well as support and guidance for transforming your professional learning. The audit includes teaching and non-teaching staff and enables you to benefit your whole school system for staff.

What is the project in the North East?

Through support from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, the TDT is able to support a unique opportunity for schools in the North East of England. Schools will receive

As this is part-funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, this is a significant discount for the year’s support. The opportunity is open to 20 schools in total with 8 spaces remaining currently.

What are the benefits?

-  Focussed support and guidance to facilitate best practice and pedagogy in the classroom, with a particular focus on pupils eligible for pupil premium.

-  A benchmark and overview of provision for development for all staff, with a bespoke report and next steps to develop your whole school model.

-  Free access to research (over 1800 educational research journals) to support engagement with evidence across the school.
