- Questions to the Manager
Cllr T Reilly
“What is the possibility of the NRA putting a bridge across the Boyne at Farganstown so as to alleviate traffic chaos in the Town of Navan?”
Cllr J Reilly
“Due to huge usage of the local Navan bus service and private school buses along the Forfas road, can further funding be requested from the DTO - or other streams of funding - to increase the size of the current Bus shelter across from the Johnstown Shopping Centre and the provision of a new shelter in front of the Park on the Forfas Rd, to cater for residents from the Priory/Millbrook/Boyne View/Spire View estates and workers in the IDA park”.
- Notice of Motion
Cllr J Holloway
“That Meath Co Council address the issue of settlement on the Boyne Rd, at a point 200 metres from the junction with Kentstown Rd (The Fingerpost) – adjacent to narrow bridge, opposite shared entrance to three houses (Norris, Lynch, O’Malley) – settlement that resulted from trenching for sewer pipes carried out in 2000 and which has been notified to Council for last four years as result of which efforts to remedy the problem have not been successful. The settlement referred to has caused much damage to cars over the years and continues to do so”.
Cllr J Holloway
“That Meath Co Council carry out remedial measures to deal with the problem of flooding from the R153 at Balrath on to lands owned by Seamus Commons – a problem which has persisted for a number of years and has gotten progressively worse due to a contribution of factors
(a)The camber of the Road which inclines towards Commons land
(b)The steep incline for 200 metres which takes all the water from higher ground to low point at which it is discharged onto land
(c)The dislocation of the grass verge, stoen wall and hedge by increased traffic volumes, particularly HGV’s – now exacerbated by the opening of the M2, which has resulted in the elimination of any verge to direct surface water from the road into dedicated gullies.
I am calling for the restoration of fence/wall and installation of cement kerbing to effect the containment of surface water and discharge into the adjacent river.
Cllr T Reilly
I am calling on Navan Area Council to give an update on the Council lead Community Childcare facility.
Cllr T Reilly
That this Council make a presentation to the HSE to secure the new major hospital for Co Meath.
- Any other business.
