MYTHOLOGY Group Project (100 points)
DATE of presentation: ______
Directions: For your assigned myth topic, you are responsible for a 4-5 minute presentation + written paragraph.
A) An interactive audio/visual component that interprets your myth. Some examples: a straightforward reenactment or a creative skit alluding to or parodying a TV show or movie, music video, puppet show, etc. If you choose to have an interpretation like a detailed comic strip, gossip magazine, website, you have the added challenge of presenting it in a live-action/3-D manner. Try to have it relate to your group/classmates’ interests.
B) You should include a typed paragraph that opens with a brief summary of your myth(s)—in no more than 2-3 sentences. Discuss what the myth reveals about the Greeks (consider the concepts we’ve reviewed: humanism, hubris, fate, hero, etc.), the purpose(s) of the story, and what relevance the story may have for us today.
You will be given some in-class time to prepare but are required to coordinate via email, phone, etc. You will be graded on your productivity in class. This involves your personal engagement, utilization of resources, preparedness, etc. If I am ever absent, assume that you will be working on this project.
