Enter Time and Date to Run

This function is seen in many of the programs in the Administrative Systems. When you request to run a job, there are many ways in which you can do so. Entering time and date, time only, date only, or selected keywords (as listed below) are possibilities for entering the time and date to run a job. When entering the time and date, the time must be listed first.

  1. NOW - By entering now, the job will be queued immediately.
  1. HH:MM - If you wish to run the job in the afternoon, it should be written in
  2. Military time (based on a twenty-four hour clock), or pm should be written. Typing the minutes is not required when using am or pm to designate a time. If you do not specify a date, the system will queue the job for the next occurrence of that time. For example: it is 11 am, and you want a job to be queued for 1:00 pm, but you type 1:00. The system will run the job at 1:00 am, the following morning, because that is the next time that 1:00 occurs, but if you type 1:00 pm, 1 pm or 13:00 the job will be queued as intended. There are other ways to designate a time to run:
  1. NOON
  2. MIDNIGHT- Midnight is defined as 12 am, the beginning of a day. If a job is queued on June 20th for midnight, for example, it will run at 12 am, June 21st (the morning of June 21st).
  3. TEATIME - Teatimeis recognized to be 4 pm.
  1. MM/DD/YY - If you enter only the date, the job will run on the date you -specified, at the time it was written. For example, if a job request was made at 11:30 am but the date the job was scheduled for was 6/7/03, the job will run on 6/7/03 at 11:30 am.
  2. There are other ways to designate a date to run:
  1. TOMORROW
  2. DAYS OF THE WEEK - All days of the week are accepted. You must write out the names (i.e. Monday, Tuesday, not Mon., or Tues.).
  1. After entering the time and date to run, click the Submit button.

** By typing a date and time that has already passed, the system will queue the job to run right away. **

  1. TO CANCEL A JOB - If you decide not to run a job, follow these steps:
  2. Open Netscape
  3. Go to
  4. Click on Utilities
  5. Click on Batch Queue at the top of the screen
  6. The Job Confirmation will be displayed next
