  2. Clear all layers except for “Borders and Labels” and “Global Awareness”.
  3. In western Brazil click on the UNEP icon labeled “Rondonia”. Read the description. Click on the

link that says “Overlay images in Google Earth”. You will see a folder in the

“Places”in the sidebar. Explore those images.

  1. Click on the UNICEF icon in Suriname. Read about the project.
  2. Briefly describe the project. What is its purpose?
  1. Click on the UNEP icon in Bolivia labeled “Santa Cruz”. Read the description. Click

on the link that says “Overlay images in Google Earth”. You will see a folder in the

“Places”in the sidebar. Explore those images.

  1. Why were these forests cut down? Do you think this was and still is a good reason to do so?

  1. Click on the ARK icon in the Galapagos Islands. Read the information.
  2. What is unique about the Galapagos marine iguanas?
  1. Who are the predators of the marine iguanas?

  1. Zoom down to see the Iguazu Falls. Check out the falls from different angles and explore the region. Is there a big tourism imprint that you can find in the area? Explain.
