“We believe that every girl, can embrace who she is, can define who she wants to be, can rise to any challenge, can change the world.”

Dear (Name),

(Site Name) will be hosting a (type of program: Girls on the Run and/or Heart & Sole) team this (season and year) and we’re looking for amazing volunteer coaches to help us make this a successful season for our girls! Girls on the Run-Chicago (GOTRC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. For 10 to 12 weeks, girls age 8-14 will train for a 5k running event and learn powerful lessons on nutrition, fitness, teamwork, relationships and leadership. This will be our (number) year participating in the program and we’d love to have you join us a coach for this season.

As a coach, we ask you tocommit to meeting twice a week for 75-90 minutes each session. This season, our team will meet (list days of week) from (time)beginning (start date) and ending on (5k date) for the end of season celebratory 5k event. As a coach you have the opportunity to positively affect the lives of our girls. You’ll help them recognize their inner strength, celebrate all that makes them unique and for many, train for their very first 5k. Coaching can be a wonderful, rewarding experience and I think you would be a great addition to our team.

In order to become approved as a volunteer GOTRC coach, you need to meet 5 requirements:

  • Submitan online coach volunteer registration form
  • Submit afree online background check
  • Complete an online training module provided by GOTRC
  • Attendan in-personcoach training provided by GOTRC
  • Be CPR (AED) and First Aid certified: at least one coach per team at each practice is required to be certified. GOTRC provides a list of resources, but does not provide or cover the cost of the training.

It may seem like a lot, but I promise that the process is simple and so worth it!

If you’re interested, and I hope that you are, please let me know and I can start you on the process to becoming a coach.

Thank you,

(Site Coordinator)
