As a confident, self-motivated and responsible individual,the challenges of yacht skippering and Tall Ships adventureshavehelped me develop excellent skills in working as a team, communication,and leadingunder pressure.I am trustworthy, reliable and a capableproblem solver, with tenacity to maintain focus and effort, through an adaptable approach, for positive results. Being self-reliant, and with a broad, open outlook, I continue to find ways to further my own learning and help inspire and motivate others. Seeing ships being built from an early age and making the most of life and travel experience opportunities, continue to drive my pathway towards a professional and exciting career as a Deck Officer.

Work Experience

Part-Time Sales Assistant, Primark, Taunton December 2017 – Present

Started as a seasonal worker, and after performing well, I am now a fixed member of the customer facing sales team. Main duties includesupporting store performance through sales transactions, replenishing stock, health and safety compliance, and ensuring customers receive exceptional levels of service. Working in a dynamicenvironment, I must be dependable, accurate when handling cash, remain calm, work as a team, and be flexible to adapt.

Dutiesare working with the Watch Leader in the running of the watch,supervising crew quarters, organising rotations, managing the up keep of the boat and musteringthe watch for emergency situations.This development path to becoming a Watch Leader, includes further sea miles towards my RYA Yachtmaster, leadership and technical skills, and youth work.
