2012 Guinot Autumn Dressage Festival
The Guinot Autumn Dressage Festival, incorporating the WA Dressage Championships, is one of the 2 major events on the WA Dressage calendar. Run by Dressage WA Promotions Inc on behalf of Dressage WA, the Festival offered tests for all riders including Official, Associate, Interschool, WA Dressage Grand Slamfor Pony Club, Para Equestrian, Adult Rider and Pas De Deux.
The 2012 Guinot Autumn Dressage Festival was very well supported with over 350 tests ridden over the weekend. All levels of riders and horses were represented and the Freestyle Dressage Challenge was incredibly popular with the sponsors and the audience. The event ran well and the Saturday night entertainment, the Inaugural Dressage Riders vs Showjumping Riders Games Event -Dressage and Showjumping Teams competing in a novelties ride-off riding PCAWA Showcase ponies, was great fun for both the riders and the crowd!
Dressage WA Promotions and in particularthe Event Director, Tanya Appleby and Event Secretary, Sandy Taylor did a great job in keeping the event running to schedule when those minor hiccups that occur at every event popped up.Sandy sacrificed celebrating a significant birthday on the Friday, to ensure the Guinot event ran smoothly, and we hope she was able to enjoy celebrating once she recovered from the three 18 hour days she put in over the weekend of the event.
The competition at this event was tough with some very good quality horses competing including the imported stallions Bellario and Royal Oak II who took out the Official Medium Champion and the Official Prix St George Champion respectively. WEG dual Bronze Medallist Sharon Jarvis ridingSonya Johnson’s Eventing Olympic Silver MedallistRingwould Jaguar was Champion in the Para Equestrian competition with Kate Eiszele on Merinda Composer taking Reserve Champion. In the Advanced classes Rebecca Hepburn-Brown took out Champion on Northern Gabriella with Wendy Barker on Ellis Brook Lorenzo gaining Reserve Champion.
In the Official Preliminary, Tyana Lawless and Bluefields Furstin Reveal were winners of the Champion Horse with Tyla Schou on Newington Statement taking Champion Pony. Deon Stokes on the imported stallion Don Dancier were Champion in the Official Novice with Leighchel Rowe on Lancefield Park French Elegance winners of the Champion Novice Pony. In the Elementary horse, Bianca Wise on Kanimbla Park Emblem took out Champion with Wendy Cumming on Joshua Brook Jamison taking Reserve.
