ACMS Department Part-time Instructors
SPRING 2000
The following is a description of the professional qualifications of the part-time instructors in the Department of AMIS for Spring 2000. All are highly qualified and we are confident that they will perform their assigned duties in a superior manner. We are being conservative, however, in the designation of “professionally qualified” under AACSB standards
Sally Adams:Teaching MINS 30, 31, 32, MS-DOS & Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Graphics and Data Base Management and BADM 015, Introduction to Financial Accounting. Ms. Adams has a Master’s degree in accounting, is a CPA, has significant public accounting and private practice experience, and is the lead author in an innovative, technology enhanced and nationally distributed introductory accounting textbook.
Carol Arthur:Responsible for MINS 116, Intermediate Business Programming breakouts. Ms. Arthur has a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis. Major areas of concentration: Computer Graphics, Programming Languages and Compilers, and Program Analysis. Ms. Arthur has been a lecturer previously at ChicoState from January of 1987-May 1990. During that time she restructured the content of the Pascal programming class. Her responsibilities included lecturer and supervising teaching assistants. She has also taught an upper division data structure course to computer science students.
Neelam Bahl: Responsible for POMG 248, Production Management Control Systems and POMG 246 Advanced Topics in Quality Management breakouts. Ms. Bahl has a MBA from CSU, Chico. Since October 1997 she has been a SAP Instructional Support Staff member at CSU, Chico. During this time she assisted the faculty in incorporating SAP R/3 in financial accounting, management accounting, production planning material requirement planning, and investment management courses. Her primary responsibilities include helping faculty design assignments for the courses and assisting the students in using SAP R/3 software. She has extensive experience with of Microsoft Windows NT, Excel, VP-Expert, and SAP R/3 application.
Helen Gesick: Teaching MINS 114, Business Report Design. Ms. Gesick has a Master’s degree in Computer Science from CSU, Chico. She graduated cum laude. Ms. Gesick has been a lecturer and teaching assistant at CSU, Chico since 1977 in the computer science field. She has authored “Computers Art & You.” She has presented and attended many conferences.
Wilder, Tom: Teaching POMG 241, Production Operation Management Application. Mr. Wilder has a MBA degree with Production and Operations Management emphasis from CSU, Chico. Mr. Wilder has owner/operator experience in two small businesses.
Gregorio Martinez: Responsible for SAP Configuration, MINS 220. Mr. Martinez has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in MIS and Accounting. He graduated Spring 1999 from CSU, Chico. His computer skills include SAP R/3, Oracle 7, Microsoft Office, Rbase, Access, Visio5 Diagram, ABAP/4, SQL, COBOL, Windows 95, DOS, UNIX. He is a business analysis/programmer working in the SAP Configuration area at Intel Corporation.
James Long: Teaching MINS 116, Intermediate Business Programming. Responsible for MINS 208, Structure System Analysis breakouts. He has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from CSU, Chico. His primary emphasis is in real-time processing, communications and design techniques. Mr. Long was a contributor to the book “Component Strategies Organizing for Components-Managing Risk and Maximizing Re-use,” February 1999, by Tom Vayda. Mr. Long is the owner of J & L Technologies, a technical consulting firm.
Julie Quinn: Teaching BADM 016, Introduction to Managerial Accounting and a teaching assistant for ACCT 127, Federal Income Taxes. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and she is working toward a Master’s in Accountancy at CSU, Chico. She has several years of small business expeirence.
George Leftkowitz: Responsible for MINS 110, Corporate Information Technology breakouts. Mr. Leftkowitz has an Associate Arts degree in General Business, a Master of Science degree in Business Management from Cal Poly, Pomona and has a target date for his Master’s in Business Administration, from CSU, Chico by May 2000. He has extensive experience in private business. He is the CEO, General Manager of Lefkowitz Ent., Inc. He is the owner/operator of Midas Muffler in Chico.
Alice Tidwell: Responsible for MINS 216, Management Issues for MIS Professional breakouts and COBIS. Ms. Tidwell has several years of business management experience. In addition, she has attended classes from Oracle Education and International Oracle Users Group in Database Administration, Backup and Recovery, Data Warehousing, Tuning, and Databases, and the Internet. She is a senior in Accounting and Management Information Science, at CSU, Chico, with a GPA of 3.9. She was awarded an Associate of Arts in Business and Accounting in 1990, with a GPA of 4.0. She volunteered for CSU, Chico, College of Business, helping implement an Oracle-based information system that was designed by several classes to correlate records collected from several legacy and paper systems with new information. She has experience in instructing, supervising and advising assistants and users. She also serves as a resource to current database classes.
