  2. Club will receive certificate in the name of the teacher it nominated.
  3. Certificate can then be given to the teacher it honored at a club meeting, if desired.

General Rules Applying to Awards Listed:

1.Postmark Deadlines: Membership Gain Award – March 4th

Green Jacket Hall of Fame Award – March 4th

All other awards –March 20th

2. All award entries, except the Yearbook, are being judged for the period from March 1 through the last day of February of the following year.

  1. All entries, except the Yearbook, must be on 8 ½” x 11” paper.

4.Provide a single copy of each entry to the Awards Jury Chairman no later than the deadline specified above. Entries postmarked after that date will not be considered. Suggestion: Form a Club Awards Committee to compile the information necessary to complete each award as projects take place.

5.A panel of judges will be named by the Governor with the name and address of the Awards Jury Chair published in the Governor’s Bulletin.

6.Non-compliance with the requirements of any Award will result in disqualification

Kristal Krimmel Membership AWARD – Presented by Kristal Krimmel, Past Governor, at District Convention in San Antonio, 1959. The award is sponsored by her home club, the Pilot Club of Beaumont. This is a banner patch award and is presented annually to the club having the largest percentage of net increase in membership for the period of March 1 of the prior year to March 1 of the current year. Reinstated members count as new members.

SERVICE TO THE AGING

ELIZABETH YOUNG SERVICE TO THE AGING AWARD – Presented by Elizabeth Young, Past Governor, at District Convention in Austin, 1982. This award is a banner patch.

The purpose of this award is to recognize clubs, which contribute to independent living for the elderly and engage in projects, service, and activities, which improve the quality of life for the vulnerable handicapped aged. The following rules and guidelines shall be observed:

1. Entry must be submitted in notebook form or similar binding.

2. Complete the SENIOR PROGRAMS REPORT form according to the directions and attach it to

your entry. (Please use Form on next page.) This form must be included.

3. Submit a full narrative report of your activities, citing projects, personal services of club members,

and funds contributed. The narrative should describe and explain the services named on the

SENIOR PROGRAMS REPORT.

4. Describe your club’s support of an Alzheimer’s Association Walk, or any other activity related to

an Alzheimer’s project; relate how your club has participated by walking and/or working with local

Alzheimer’s chapters to stage the events. Did your club make a contribution to PIF’s Brain-

Related Disorders Fund in support of Alzheimer’s Research?

5. Attach supporting publicity and documentation, including photographs, to your narrative.

6. Attach “Review Score Sheet” to your entry. Do not complete the form – it is intended for the

judges’ use only.

A club winning the award two years in succession shall be ineligible to compete for it at the next annual District Convention.

Safety and Security Award

This is a banner patch award. The purpose of this award is to increase Safety and Security awareness at the community level through programs or projects involving local Pilot Clubs. Each Pilot Club is encouraged to develop and implement the Safety and Security project which best meets the needs of the local community. Clubs can form coalitions with other community agencies and organizations interested in Safety and Security to increase effectiveness.

“REACH FOR THE STARS” CAROL GREANEY-WURST OUTSTANDING BRAIN-RELATED SERVICE PROJECT – 1998. This award is a banner patch.
This award is for the purpose of showing other clubs how you are making a difference in your community regarding our Pilot focus of “Brain Related Disorders”. It will be a way of assisting other clubs in identifying and constructing brain-related projects that would benefit their own community.

CO-PILOT CONVENTION ATTENDANCE AWARD

BELLAIRE SOUTHWEST CO-PILOT CONVENTION ATTENDANCE AWARD: Presented by Patti and Jack Brinley at District Convention in San Antonio, 1953. This Award was revised in 2001 and is now sponsored by Mary Ruth and Paul Tasler. It is a banner patch award.

Registration for this Award shall be made by Pilot members, or by their Co-Pilots in person, at the registration desk. NOT LATER THAN NOON ON SATURDAY OF THE ANNUALDISTRICT CONVENTION.
The Registration and Credential Committee shall serve as judges and should notify the District Governor.
The largest number of Co-Pilots attending from any one club shall alone determine the winning club, subject to the registration herein stated.
The club (s) of the convention city shall be ineligible to compete for this award.
Any club winning the award for TWO YEARS in succession shall become ineligible to compete for the next two District Conventions.
