Factory, City, Human Being, School, Fairy tale or whatever you choose.

Introduction: In this cell project, you will create a metaphor that shows your understanding of cells. You can create a children’s book, a comic book, a storyboard, a fairy tale, a song, a social media account, or some other project that you devise. If you want to do something different, it must be approved before you start. You can work alone for this project, or with a partner. You must assume all responsibilities when working with a partner.

You need to explain how cells work and how the organelles listed below are similar to the parts of the town etc. that you’ve chosen.

Your project must include:

· A narrative description of how a cell works like your selection (city, body etc.) This should be a typed up report that shows how each part of your project relates to the cell parts. Please use spellcheck and proofread your work. If you do a song, a social media account, or a story book, this counts as the narrative as you will put the functions of the organelles right into the song, story, or social media account.

· Visual(s) that you have created to enhance and illustrate your metaphor. You must put time and creativity into this piece. If you do a song, you must include pictures of the organelles next to each line in the song where you talk about that organelle, if you do a story book, you must include pictures next to the characters that represent the organelle, if you do a social media account, you must include photos of the organelles in the photo section.

· This is a major project; you need to have a description for each cell part in your narrative, and each cell part must be represented in your visual.

Organelles that you MUST include:

Nucleus, Cell Membrane, Cytoplasm, mitochondria, Golgi Apparatus, Endoplasmic Reticulum, Ribosomes, Lysosomes, Vacuoles, Vesicles, Chloroplast

This project is worth a test/project grade.

Story Books: Can be completed using google slide show: must share with me when you begin.

Posters: Can be done in class with the poster board I provided.

Rap/Song: Must create on the computer using google docs, and share with the teacher.

Google Slide Show can be used if you cannot bring materials into class to build something as your model.
