Completing Education Prior to Starting Your Clinical Experience at Methodist

Prior to starting your clinical experience at Methodist Hospital, you are required to complete some on-line education. This training is required for both students and instructors. Most of this training can be done remotely via our Learning Management System called the Learning Point (tLP).

In order to complete your e-learning, you will need to set up an additional login account in the MyInfo portal. The MyInfo portal provides an extra layer of security when accessing the hospital computer system remotely.

Creating MyInfo Account:

  1. After obtaining your user number, network userID and temporary network password from your instructor, call the Customer Support Center @ 952-993-9000.
  2. Select the option for Park Nicollet (#2) followed by the option for password resets.
  3. Identify yourself as a student and request a MyInfo accountto be created.
  4. They will provide you with a MyInfo username and MyInfo temporary password.

Signing in to MyInfo Account

  1. Go to the following webpage:
  2. Sign in with your MyInfo username and MyInfo temporary password that was provided when you called the Customer Support Center.
  1. You will be prompted to reset your MyInfo password.
  2. After resetting your MyInfo password, you will be asked to login with your network username andtemporary network password. (The network username and temporary password is what your instructor provided.)
  1. Now you will be prompted to change your network temporary password. (This can be the same as the MyInfo password, if you want.)

Accessing the Learning Management System (The Learning Point- tLP)

  1. Once you have logged into MyInfo, select The Learning Point icon.
  1. Login to The Learning Point with your network username and networkpassword.

  1. Click on the icon of books (Library icon).
  1. Scroll down on the left side under Library to findEpic Elearning- Nursing Students. Click on the arrow next to the title to expand the selection.

  1. Click the link to display the e-learnings.

  1. Start the e-learnings by clicking on Select and then click Start.

After completing the eLearnings, how do you get Epic access?

Once all of your nursing students within thecurrent rotation have completed thee-learnings, PLEASE email Jeff Comp and Lovelayn Mogowith the list of student names. Please notify Jeff Comp and Lovelayn Mogo at least 3 (three) to 5 (five) business days prior to the start of the student’s clinical rotation to ensure your student’s Epic access is activated.
