ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT / CBeebies, our TV and online content for 0-6 year olds, aims to educate and entertain our youngest audiences. It is the UK's most watched and most loved channel for the under-sixes.
Almost half of the target audience tune in every week (parents and carers with children aged 0-3 and four- to six-year-olds in digital homes) with 55% saying it is one of their favourite channels. Our reach is around three times that of our nearest competitor.
CBeebies has just been crowned BAFTA’s Children’s Channel of the Year and is also Freesat Children’s Channel of the Year.
Our purpose is to give children access to high-quality information and entertainment, which will provide lasting memories and inspiration.
AIM OF THE ROLE / The CBeebies Office Runner Apprentice will provide accurate, effective and timely office support to the CBeebies television production and interactive teams. This will include some secretarial and clerical duties, as well as more creative tasks such helping set up film shoots and contributing your ideas to our programming.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING / Over the course of your apprenticeship you will build your skills and knowledge to be able to successfully:
- Provide support to the CBeebies Production Assistant (PA) during times of
- Helping set up film shoots
- Buy and source props
- Contribute ideas to television production and online teams
- Maintaining a tape library and logging of all incoming tapes as required
- Taking phone messages and dealing with general enquiries
- Deputising for the PA in their absence
- Offering general office support wherever and whenever it is needed
- Support the production team in the office, on location, and in the studio
- Ensuring general office space is kept neat and presentable at all times and
- Undertake general office duties including collecting tapes and kit, logging
- Act as a first point of contact for a range of both internal and external callers

- Effective written and verbal communication skills

- Demonstrates interest in the BBC and the wider industry
- Commitment to gaining your apprenticeship qualification through attending college when required and completing related work
