ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Worshipful the Mayor of Poole Councillor Ray Smith accompanied by his wife Mrs Jean Smith attended the meeting to present the Certificates of Commendation.
1.APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

- MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – 19 JUNE 2002
RESOLVED that the minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 19th June 2002 be received as a correct record.
- WORK OF THE SPORTS COUNCIL DURING THE PREVIOUS YEAR
In the absence of the Assistant Secretary, the Secretary submitted a report detailing the work of the Executive Committee during the past year. The report explained that the Sports Council had been consulted on various projects including the outcome of the Best Value Review for Sports and Recreation, priorities for Leisure Services, possibility of Poole becoming a pilot authority for the inclusive fitness initiative scheme, the volunteer investment programme, the introduction of coach education and development grants and changes to the awards for all scheme. In addition, the Sports Council had, in conjunction with the Borough’s Leisure Services, awarded grants totalling £4,064. The Secretary explained that the Assistant Secretary was currently on maternity leave.
RESOLVED that
(i)the report of the Assistant Secretary be received; and
(ii)the thanks of this Sports Council and its best wishes to extended to MrsBeth Stannard during her maternity leave.
- REPORT OF HONORARY TREASURER
The Secretary, in the absence of the Honorary Treasurer, submitted the accounts for the year ending 31st March 2003 showing an end of year balance of £1,025.77. He reminded members that the subscription fee of £5 was due for the year 2003/4 and expressed his thanks to Mr Chris Sugden who had checked the accounts.
RESOLVED that the report of the Honorary Treasurer be received and he be thanked for his work during the year.
