With more than 20 installations at the two PALFINGER trade fair stands and at the leading truck manufacturers, PALFINGER is presenting itself as an international market leader for mobile loading cranes and as a technological pacesetter for hydraulic lifting and work systems. On a total of 1,400 square metres, PALFINGER will demonstrate a wide product range to trade fair visitors – from the new building materials crane series to timber and recycling cranes, container handling systems, truck-mounted forklifts and access platforms.
The PALFINGER Group is facing the future with optimism. The 2013 business year ended with a highly positive sales volume. The PALFINGER Group underscores its standard as a successful worldwide system specialist for loading and handling technology with the continued expansion of international holdings, such as in Hidro-Grubert in Argentina. But the cooperation with our Chinese partner SANY is bearing initial fruits as well. Both the Sany Palfinger joint venture in China and Palfinger Sany, the marketing joint venture for Europe and the CIS, have already reported good sales successes. With our three strategic pillars of internationalisation, innovation and flexibilisation, we will continue to achieve profitable growth in the long term in the future as well.
This is why the world's largest commercial vehicle trade fair, the IAA, running from 25 September to 2 October in Hanover, provides the ideal setting for us to demonstrate our standard of being a leader in innovations. PALFINGER products prove their strength day in, day out. They deliver the highest reliability when it comes to performance, quality and service – for the entire product lifetime. This is how they fulfil our brand promise: LIFETIME EXCELLENCE. We know that the only way to hold your ground and to further expand your market position in the long term is through economical, reliable, and innovative products.
This is why two crane innovations will celebrate their world premiere at PALFINGER’s large main stand. Once again, PALFINGER is setting top marks in building material transport with the new L-crane model series. In addition to familiar features such as a 440° slewing angle and an excellent loading height, the technical innovations in the L-crane series are impressive: slewing gear mounted in an oil bath, internally routed hoses and an ergonomically optimised top seat with new joystick control. These characteristics improve the efficiency of the day-to-day handling of building materials and are a strong argument for the new L-series.
The new Epsilon M series can be considered a kindred partner to the new L-series. The M- series is a proven specialist for timber and recycling applications. Equipped with a package of product innovations ranging from optimised outriggers to an innovative double-telescope boom system, the cranes in the new M-series provide outstanding performance even under the most difficult conditions. In addition, improved maintenance intervals mean that they are also reliable endurance runners in use. The new Master Drive operator top seat adds to the performance of the Epsilon model series through perfect ergonomics, and operational safety and comfort.
The PALcom P7 rang in a completely new generation of radio remote controls this year. In perfect interplay between design, ergonomics and a significantly increased length of service, the new crane control, which was developed together with industrial designers and external experts, is setting new standards. The highlights of the PALcom P7 include a glare-free colour display through “transflective” technology, ergonomically arranged control levers, intelligent battery charging management and an ergonomically optimised carrying system.
The new P-fold assistance system allows cranes to be unfolded and folded back up easily, using a single control lever. While this is happening, the intelligent control coordinates the crane movements up to a defined working position. In addition to the added operating comfort and avoidance of cost-intensive damage, the new assistance system reduces crane set-up times considerably.
PALFINGER features yet another highlight with the new P 480 Jumbo class NX (next generation) access platform. The flagship of the new model series is exhibited on the PALFINGER main stand mounted on a double-axle MAN chassis. With a working height of up to 48 metres and a maximum lateral reach of 31.5 metres, the new PALFINGER access platform gets best marks in its class. The hydraulically operated X-jib between the upper boom and the workman basket gives the new P480 access platform with a 240˚ movement radius unparalleled abilities and allows for precision working at the highest level. This means that the workman basket (which can be rotated 400˚) can be aligned exactly with buildings, masts or beneath overhangs during operation, just like a wrist on an outstretched arm. Thanks to this enormous flexibility and the sensitive proportional controller, the new access platform can now take on demanding tasks at a huge height as well – tasks in which conventional access platforms reach their limits due to their design.
With a PC 2700 mounted on a Ducato, PALFINGER is also premiering a new compact-crane mounting kit for 3.5-tonne vehicles at the IAA. Until now, the assembly and mounting costs, which were relatively high in comparison to the cost of purchasing a vehicle, were the chief market hurdles. Through avoiding the use of a payload-reducing auxiliary frame and additional welding and boring on the chassis, it is now possible to lessen the mounting time by about a third in comparison to other crane models, which reduces costs. The drive is either an electro-hydraulic pump unit or a hydraulic pump with a magnetic coupling, driven by the engine’s V-belt. With the new compact-crane mounting kit, PALFINGER makes it possible for operators of light commercial vehicles to continue to enjoy the PALFINGER quality that they are accustomed to while at the same time being particularly sensitive to costs.
International trade specialists will have their first opportunity to view the new generation of the DIN skiploader at PALFINGER’s main stand. In addition to the hydraulic four-point container restraint, PALFINGER will present the novel single-hand radio remote control, which features outstanding safety, user-friendliness and ergonomics. The expanded range of PALFINGER skiploaders now includes factory paintwork, preparation for easy assembly and an integrated underride guard.
Great importance was placed on increased payload through minimised dead weight and low maintenance expense as the CiTy hookloader was being developed. Designed specifically for trucks of up to 5.5 tonnes permissible gross weight, the new hookloader features optimised dead weight, an ergonomic, intuitive, newly developed cabin control, and a low-maintenance design. Of course, factory paintwork and an efficient boltable assembly concept for differing chassis are standard here as well.
To further increase operator comfort, PALFINGER has introduced the Pro Active Drive (PAD) control system for PALFINGER hookloaders. This results in a series of improvements in comfort. Beyond simple, intuitive and safe operation, the distinguishing feature of the new system is that its automatic operating cycles make loading and unloading significantly easier.
PALFINGER is set to showcase the truck-mounted forklift F3 151 at a trade fair for the first time. Tailored for beverage transportation, this truck-mounted forklift makes an impression with maximum operating safety and comfort. A new, suitably large driver’s cab ensures the operator is optimally protected whatever the weather. What’s more, the ergonomically arranged operating elements allow for fatigue-free working. The smooth, precise control also allows the fork lift to be manoeuvred even in the most confined of spaces. The focus was on reducing operating costs as well as optimizing operating convenience.
The F3 151 thus sets new standards in terms of safety, convenience and cost efficiency.
In addition to the main stand, numerous new developments can be seen at MBB PALFINGER's stand. Along with the world premiere of the MBB PALFINGER vertical lift, the Mediramp and the PALFINGER cassette lift solution can be viewed. Also featured is the MBB C 750 L tail lift with a dual-cylinder hoist mechanism and 750kg load-bearing capacity, which was specially designed for small vans up to 6.5 tonnes.
Another highlight is the MBB C 1000 E electric tail lift with e-Drive technology and 1,000kg load-bearing capacity. In this tail lift, the conventional hydraulic drive was replaced by a completely new drive concept. From both a technological perspective and an ecological perspective, the omission of components such as the hydraulic unit and cylinders, valves, hoses and oil is trendsetting.
