The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing® and Iron Mountain Entertainment Services Hold Preservation Celebration at Third Man Records in Nashville During Summer NAMM

Santa Monica, Calif. (July24, 2017) — On Thursday, July 13, 2017, the Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing®, in partnership with Iron Mountain Incorporated® (NYSE: IRM) Entertainment Servicesheld an exclusive event at Third Man Records in Nashville during the Summer NAMM Show. The evening celebrated Nashville's longtime commitment to excellence in audio and the archiving and preservation of recorded music and film. Guests enjoyed a special live performance, along with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.

The event was attended by leaders from the Nashville recording and entertainment communities, including Alicia Warwick, Executive Director for the Recording Academy Nashville Chapter; Trey Fanjoy, the newly named President of the Academy's Nashville Chapter; Anastasia Brown, Nashville Film Festival President; Tracy Gershon, Red Light Management; Whitney Kroenke, Founder, Playing for Change; Shannon Casey, CAA (Creative Artists Agency); Beverly Keel, noted journalist and Chair of MTSU’s Department of Recording Industry; mastering engineer Eric Boulanger; prominent engineer/producers Ben Fowler, Dave Brainard, Chuck Ainlay, Mark Needham, Brian Foraker and Ryan Hewitt; musical artist Robin Hitchcock and many others.

The evening began with Maureen Droney, the Recording AcademyManaging Director, P&E Wing and Recording Technology, welcoming attendees to Third Man Records. She remarked on the P&E Wing's relationship with Iron Mountain, and how the two of them share the same vision of best practices in preservation and archiving as well as an overall commitment to excellence in audio. She stated, "Best technical practices are the reason for our partnership with Iron Mountain, a company that is really the gold standard for music archiving and preservation, and the home, these days, to many of the original masters of the music that we all know and love."

Droney then introduced Kevin Kadish, co-chair of the Nashville Chapter P&E Wing committee,who spoke for himself and fellow co-chair Gary Paczosa aboutthe importance of technical best practices, recording education, other Academy initiatives. Droney then introduced a short clip from American Epic, a collaborative documentary project executive-produced by T Bone Burnett, Robert Redford and Jack White.

Greg Parkin, Director of Digital Solutions for Iron Mountain Entertainment Services, then remarked on Iron Mountain’s overall work in the preservation field, followed byBarry Cardinael, Nashville-based project manager for Iron Mountain Entertainment Services, who elaborated on the Nashville community's longtime contributions to preservation initiativesA short video presentation from Iron Mountain was next, followed by Alicia Warwick, who introduced the evening's entertainment, a performance by local indie favorite Diamond Carter. After the program, guests were treated to a guided tour of Third Man's facilities.

Parkin noted, "We value our relationship with The Recording Academy, and we have similar visions in terms of preserving the art of recorded music. Nashville obviously has a rich history in popular music and the arts, and we are proud to play an important role in this vital community."
