Histology Notebook
REQUIREMENTS:
1. You are responsible for the drawings listed below from observations.
2. Each drawing should be drawn accurately in colored pencil and clearly labeled (see
page 2 for labels). Make sure you are drawing the correct tissues and structures!
3. Include in your drawings details that will aid you in future identification of that particular tissue in a testing situation.
4. For each of the tissues, give a brief description of the tissue and how that tissue helps the body maintain homeostasis.
5. You are to make copies or draw on white paper the data page included in this handout for future drawing pages. Make the copies single sided.
6. Put box number below in parenthesis after each drawing.
7. You will be graded on completeness, neatness, and accuracy.
8. Draw what you see (however, some pieces are hard to see, so draw them where they should be).
9. Your drawing should be a representation of the field of view in a microscope.
10. Your drawings should be in order and turned in enclosed in a report cover.
Notes to you:
- Use the labels that are asked for on this handout.
- Make sure that you can recognize the tissue in your drawing. If you cannot recognize the tissue it may be necessary to modify it. You will need to study these for the 1st lab practical!
- Be sure that the tissue you are drawing is really the tissue of interest!!! Since slides are from real organisms, the tissue you need to observe will be connected to other tissues. So, be sure you have the right view in your microscope. When in doubt, ASK!!
