Westmoreland is offering an entry level hospitality internship program that will provide students with a hands on and challenging opportunity to receive exposure in the proper fundamentals of hospitality food and beverage member services. Self-motivated and driven team leaders with the willingness to learn the club industry from ground up will likely be successful candidates. This experience will prepare students for a subsequent manager-in-training internship. Housing and one meal per shift are provided and individuals must provide their own transportation. Additionally, this is a paid internship and scholarship opportunities with the GCCMA are available.
Primary responsibilities will focus on assisting in the areas of front of the house operations. Interns will rotate through the food and beverage department acting as a la carte and banquet servers, server assistants, poolside café attendants, front desk receptionist, bartenders and cocktail servers. Weekly intern educational meetings are offered.
Successful candidates will have completed a minimum of one year in a hospitality program at an accredited university or institution. Individuals must have the ability to handle a variety of social situations with members and staff, have a flexible attitude with a strong desire to excel, the capability to multitask, and must promote a positive work environment and team atmosphere. This is an excellent opportunity to be associated with a Platinum Club of America during its Centennial Celebration.
