Children may start at the preschool from 2 ½ years old.

Quality:The preschool is registered with Ofsted and, for the second time, was

Graded “outstanding” in all areas (September 2015). The pre-school has been accredited by QuILT Gold(quality assurance scheme), by I CAN Early Talk, Healthy Early Years Quality Improvement Scheme and participates in Simple Quality Protects (Safeguarding Scheme). All permanent childcare staff have first aid training.

Costs: We accept free entitlement funding for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds.

£5.30 per hour for 2½ -3 year olds. (Fees are subject to

change.) The preschool is eligible for 15 hours free funding for 2 year olds (in the term after their 2nd birthday) who meet the eligibility criteria. Freenursery funding is available for over 3 year olds for 15 hours per week in the term after their third birthday. If your child receives 15hours free funding, any additional sessions are then charged at the current rate of £5.40 per hour. Additional sessions may be taken up provided spaces are available in the pre-school.

All fees are payable 2 weeks in advance.

Fees are payable even when your child is sick or on holiday and unable to attend.

A £5 registration fee is charged for non-funded children.

Settling In:You will be invited to attend a session with your child in advance of your starting date. This will enable you and your child to become familiar with the pre-school routine and the staff. There is a staggered start for new children. Individual support is offered to parent and child to settle into the pre-school.

Staff:The team of staff is made up of 5 permanent members. One staff member also works in the role of Nurture Support. All staff and volunteers are DBS checked.

All staff have a relevant early years qualification. The Manager and Deputy have attained Early Years Teacher Status. The senior Deputy is also the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.

Staff regularly undertake training to keep skills and knowledge up to date and to promote good practice.

Staff turnover is low; most of the staff have been with us for several years.

Your child will be assigned a “Key Person” who will be responsible for developing a caring relationship and monitoring your child’s progress.

The Pre-school: We have a purpose built room with age appropriate toys, including soft play, anda secure outdoor play area with a garden for growing plants.Interesting and challenging activities centred around children’s interests are provided by caring and trained staff.

We are happy to arrange a visit to the pre-school for you to see the setting and to talk to a staff member. If you would like a visit, please phone the pre-school to arrange a date and time.

Disabilities/

SEN: We have an experienced SENCO with additional training and qualifications to support children with additional needs. The manager has also attended SEN training. Staff have attended Makaton training and one staff member has British Sign Language training.
