Stayondesignateddirtandgravelroadswhileridingthroughtheparktohelpensureitsconservationandpreservationforfuturegenerations.
Campingandpicnicking
Dispersedcampingispermittedinmostofthepark.CampingisnotpermittedatScottsBeach.CampingispermittedatnearbyHorseshoeBendthathasaboatramp.
BigTomsBeachhasanexpansive300mbeachandplentyofflat,grassedareas.Thelowentryintothewaterheremakeslaunchingarubberdingyorcanoereallyeasy.Thecampgroundisaneasy15-‐20minutewalkintotown.
AccessforBigTomsandneighbouringLittleTomsBeachisviaWondahStreet.FollowthetrackfurtherwestalongtherivertoreachDeadEndBeachcampground.
DeadRiverBeachisjusttothenorth-‐westoftownalongatrackoffRacecourseRoad.TherearepicnicareastothenorthatBigTom'sandLittleTom'sBeaches(accessviaWondahStreet).
QuinnsIslandisawaterbirdhavenformedbyabendintheriverthathasbeencutoffbyScottsCreek.PedestrianaccesstotheislandisviaabridgeoffRiverRoad.Theislandhastwokilometresofdefinedwalkingtrails,alargebirdhideandbeaches.AnumberofAboriginalartefactssuchasscartrees,flinttoolsandmiddens,havebeenfoundontheisland.
Foramoreremotewildernessexperience,ventureabout16kmsouth-‐eastofCobramtoCobrawonga Island.
Thompson'sBeach,locatednearthebridgeatthenorth-‐easternedgeofCobram,isknownasVictoria’slargestinlandbeach.Ithaspicnicandbarbecuefacilities,akiosk,boatramps,toiletsandaplayground.MurrayWatersBoatandBikeHireoperatefromthebeach(phone-‐58722132).
Fishing
CommonspeciesincludeGoldenPerch(YellowBelly)andMurrayCod.FreshwaterCatfishandTroutCodmaybecaughtintheMurrayRiver,butareaprotectedspeciesandmustbeimmediatelyreturnedtothewaterunharmed.TheintroducedEuropeanCarpisoftencaughtbyanglersandmustbedestroyedbylaw.

TheareaisknowntohavebeenoccupiedbytheYortaYortalanguagespeakingpeoplepriortowhitesettlement.CharlesSturtexploredtheMurraydownstreamofthepresenttownsitein1830and,in1838,heledadrovingpartywith300headofcattlethroughthedistrict,enroutetoSouthAustralia.Cobramstationwastakenupin1845byOctaviusPhillpotts.
Astore,postofficeandschoolwereinoperationby1880andasawmillwassetupin1883.In1886localslobbiedfortheextensionoftherailwayintothearea.Hotels,businesses,aschool,adoctor,afoundry,banks,acordialfactory,stores,churchesandanewspaper-‐hadappearedbylate1888whenthefirsttrainarrived.Therailwaysignalledthedeclineoftherivertradebutpaddlesteamerswerestillapartofthepassengerserviceintheearlydaysofthetown.Apuntservicewasestablishedin1889andthefirstbridgewasopenedin1902.
AttheendofWorldWarIItheareawasusedforamajorsoldiersettlementscheme.Moreover,Italianimmigrants,whofirstarrivedinthe1920s,begantomigrateinfargreaternumbersafter1945andtheyareasignificantpresencetothisday.
