1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
1.5.1 Manufacturer Qualifications: Manufacturer shall have been in the business of manufacturing HDPE Lockers for a minimum of five years.
1.5.2 Installer Qualifications: Installers shall be certified by the manufacturer of the lockers being used on this project.
** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
1.5.3 Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.
1.5.3.1 Finish areas designated by Architect.
1.5.3.2 Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship, color, and sheen are approved by Architect.
1.5.3.3 Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.
1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
1.6.1 Deliver and store products in manufacturer's original unopened packaging in accordance with manufacturer's instructions until ready for installation.
1.6.2 Store materials indoors, protected from the elements and construction hazards.
1.6.3 Handle materials in a manner that will protect the finished product.
1.7 SEQUENCING
1.7.1 Ensure that locating templates and other information required for installation of products of this section are furnished to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS
1.8.1 Field Measurements:
1.8.1.1 Verify dimensions for installation by field measurements prior to fabrication and indicate measurements on Shop Drawings.
1.8.1.2 If field measurements cannot be made without delaying the Work, establish dimensions and fabricate units without field measurements. Coordinate supports, adjacent construction, and fixture locations to ensure actual dimensions correspond to established dimensions.
1.8.2 Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.
1.9 WARRANTY
1.9.1 Provide manufacturer's 10 year written limited warranty against breakage, corrosion, delamination and defects in workmanship and material. Warranties are to be signed by an authorized manufacturer representative.

2.2 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
2.2.1 Physical Properties, HDPE Lockers:
2.2.1.1 Screw Holding Strength per ASTM D 1037: Direct screw withdrawal test; HDPE material shall withstand a direct pull force that exceeds 1,100 lbs (499 kg) per fastener.
2.2.1.2 Tensile Strength: HDPE material.
2.2.1.2.1 Tensile Modulus: 339,000 lbs per sq in (2,337,323 kPa).
2.2.1.2.2 Tensile Strength at Yield: 4500 lbs per sq in (1,026 kPa).
2.2.1.2.3 Tensile Strength at Break: 2030 lbs per sq in (13,996 kPa).
2.2.1.3 Flexural Properties per ASTM D 790: Locker materials shall have a Flexural Modulus of 235,000 lbs per sq in (1,620,268 kPa).
2.2.1.4 Environmental Stress-Crack Resistance per ASTM D 1693: HDPE material shall exceed 15.0 HR.
2.2.1.5 Water Absorption per ASTM D 570: Water Absorption Rate less than 0.09 percent.
2.2.1.6 Accessibility Requirements: Comply with ADA requirements and authorities having jurisdiction.
2.2.1.7 Deterioration and Discoloration Resistance: Testing in accordance with corrosion-testing procedure established by The United States Plastic Corporation.
2.2.1.7.1 Solid plastic components shall resist deterioration and discoloration when subjected to the following chemicals:

2.3.4.2 Horizontal ventilation: Ventilation around edge of door equal to 1.43 sq in (922.6 sq mm) of ventilation surface area per linear foot of door perimeter.
