●Chair Tam introduced GASC Commissioners Mary Rasooli, Sheyla Mirka Dirzo, Savannah Vandenbos, & Weizheng Zhang.
●Flores: Why did you choose GASC?
○Rasooli: It is important to ensure that communities across campus are aware of everyone's identities.
○Dirzo: They had GSA in high school and she was president. Wants to help bridge the LGBTQIA community and work through issues.
○Vandenbos: There needs to be inclusiveness within ASUCD for these communities.
○Zhang: Professors have negative feelings regarding students of color and their identities.
●Pro tem Jamaludin: Personal goal?
○Rasooli: Wants to increase competency with faculty
○Dirzo: A lot of students don't understand struggles members of the LGBTQIA community endure. We want students to have the courage to speak out for issues.
○Vandenbos: Collaborating with panhellenic sororities and fraternities. It can be terrifying for students to come out in those types of communities. There isn't much education around LGBTQIA issues.
○Zheng: Letting asian students know about gender and sexual identity. There is a negative stigma surrounding that.

●With 8 10 Senators present out of 11 seated, quorum was established.
- Presentation: Citizens for Responsible Planning
●Eileen Savitz, former planning commissioner for City of Davis: Concerned about lack of housing for students on campus. Davis agreed to provide 25% of housing through an MOU. Davis is the largest UC in the state. Davis was growing over the years but did not increasing the amount of housing. We won't be able to house all students. 2020 initiative - there was not enough done to cater to the housing needs of students and the goal is to bring in 5,000 students. Will be bringing 10,000 students with governor’s plan. American Campus Communities works with housing for students. Energy should be put in high density housing. ASUCD should sign the petition opposing the LRDP.
●Chair Heifetz: What is the current percent of housing is offered on campus?
○Savitz: 27.2%
●Senator Singh: Other than signature, what do you want from ASUCD?
○Savitz: Signatures, advocacy to administration and the city.
●President Lee: There is a cost that comes to building housing on campus. The responsibility lies between the city and the university.

●Senator Dalavai: We had interesting relationships with past WEF directors. What is your plan to fix this bridge?
○Tierney: Would like to be part of the same team and foster open communication & mutual respect.
●Senator Martinez: What is your goal for the student staff?
○Tierney: Essentially to create a festival for students by students. Start an open dialogue so we don't run into issues.
●Senator Martinez moved to confirm Jess Tierney as Whole Earth Festival Director. The motion was seconded. No objections to appointing Director Tierney.
- Presentation: Elections Committee
●Item postponed.
- Consideration of Old Legislation
- SB #7 Tam
●Chair Tam: GASC needs money in their budget.
●Chair Flores: IAC looked at it in a quality of student's perspective.
○Found there was a $20 discrepancy.
●Controller DeAngelo: This bill contradicts another bill. GASC has usually spent over $1320 before.
●Chair Tam withdrew the bill.
- SB #9 Dhindsa
●Senator Grewal: HAUS needs $61 for a banner for housing day. It will not have the date so it can be reused.
●Controller DeAngelo: It would make more sense to add $61 in the line item budget for HAUS. This way we know in the future how much it cost to publicize housing day.
●Senator Dalavai moved to call the bill into question. The motion was seconded. The motion carried unanimously. No objections to passing the bill.
- SR #1 Breuninger

I think we need more people to shout out their voices about the LRDP. We pay to go to school, so we definitely have the right to decide what we want from the school. I will back to working mode next week. Go to the commission meeting regularly. Hope I have good grades on all the midterms. Still my OH is 2-4PM T 4-6PM R at MU patio.
