Minutes of extra NP meeting at Kippax band Club on 12-11-13

Present M.Dando, Hilary, Howard, Joy and Jack Bate, David Charles, Heather Suggate , Keith Fairburn, John Urwin, Keith Parker, Cllrs Kelly, Morley McEwan Spivey Cllr James Lewis

1) Mike Dando reported back about the questionnaire we have done. It was in need of changes and there were gaps, some questions indicated a leading response, there was nothing about heritage, community services etc.

As it has gone online already, we cannot change the paper copy, but the gaps need to be filled in another survey/consultation

* MD to highlight the gaps for the group

DM noted that only one email address can be used if filling it online

2) Distribution of Questionnaire.

After several suggestions including, posties, GPO, Outwoodgroup
(not very good a few years ago)

With reservation chose the Outwood £200 plus VAT ( DM to emphasise if poor delivery , no payment)

Printing £395

3) Return of Questionnaires

David Charles has purchased 10 box files.

DM suggested post boxes, 22 each, need to buy in 4’s, no need to paint them.

MD suggested a NP mobile phone, so we could ask residents to ring if they have difficulty getting to the drop off points

* DM to get phone

4) Website. Locality can help us sort out difficulties, as AP had to cancel it from Nov 15th

MD has offered support to get it going again

5) Project Planning

The project timeline need to be updated. And perhaps use a different format

*Doug, Frances and David offered to be responsible for the updating of the Project plan, and every meeting report back.

A larger more visual document, i.e. wallpaper may be useful to work on in meetings.

6) Community Engagement

We must target the groups not reached by the questionnaire.

MD left large grid to fill in about who, when etc.

Locality will help with advice and resources for any event we have.

Blank paper approach may be useful with schools

7) Heather updated where the core strategy was, it was submitted in Oct, may get a response early 2014

There were about 6000representations, which all have to be imputed

Requests for information about Kippax for the NP we can have reports on traffic accidents, flood risk, TPO, land ownership, queues for social housing etc., it was suggested that we have them all.

Housing Leeds now covers social housing

DM met with Nick Barras and traders to look at improving the High St.

8) Tom student from Uni is doing a study about Localism Bill and ask for feedback and if he could attend other meetings
