SCIENTIFIC METHOD

Independent Variable - a change that occur in an experiment that are directly caused by the experimenter
Dependent Variable - a change that occurs due to independent variables (no direct control)
Control Variables- other variables that could influence the dependent variable (must be kept constant).
Control Group - the group of test subjects left untreated or unexposed to an independent variable
Experimental Group - the group of test subjects treated or exposed to an independent variable

Smithers thinks that Red Bull will increase the productivity of workers. He creates two groups of 50 workers each and assigns each group the same task (in this case, they're supposed to staple a set of papers). Group A is given the Red Bull to drink while they work. Group B is not given the Red Bull. After an hour, Smithers counts how many stacks of papers each group has made. Group A spent most of their time talking and running around in circles and only made made 1,587 stacks, Group B made 2,113 stacks.
