INVITATION TO THE ALAN/NALAO JOINT CONSULTATIVE MEETING (MINI-CONGRESS),JULY 08 – 09, 2010, OSHAKATI.

Pursuant to the ALAN Management Committee meeting resolutions of April 08 – 09, 2010 ALAN & NALAO is to convene a joint consultative meeting in taking stock as well as galvanizing discussionsaround outstanding matters before the regional and local government elections scheduled for November 2010.The meeting is scheduled for July 08 – 09, 2010 and will be hosted by the Oshakati Town Council.

In specific, the Joint Consultative meetingwill be covering the following items:

  1. Briefing the members on the achievements and challenges of the Associations.
  2. Information sharing and feedback to the members
  3. Review the Association’s Strategic Plans (Strategic Objectives/Mandates)
  4. Review of the proposed amendments to the ALAN Constitution

The platform is deemed vital at this point and time due to the absence of the ALAN Congress of 2009 and members will be accorded the opportunity to raise any pertinent matters for discussions during the meeting.

Local authorities are requested to nominate participants from both the technical and political office bearers to attend the meeting. The number of attendance is at the discretion of the respective local authorities; gender balance however, is encouraged. Local Authorities are further requested to cover costs for travel, accommodation and S&T for their respective participants. Kindly complete the attached registration form and return it to the secretariat on or before July 02,2010.
