INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CHEMICAL TESTING

CALVIN RAYBURN AWARD

PURPOSE:To recognize individuals who have made superior long term service in the field of chemical testing in relation to transportation or workplace safety and made outstanding contributions to the International Association for Chemical Testing.

SPONSOR:Sponsored by the International Association for Chemical Testing.

QUALIFICATIONS:Persons nominated must, through a minimum of ten years as a member of the International Association for Chemical Testing: 1) have significant services or contributions to the Association, its goals, activities and programs; or 2) long dedicated, and meritorious service as a chemical testing practitioner or administrator of programs of chemical testing in relation to traffic or workplace safety in a national, state or local jurisdiction. Through long credible service, contributions will have been in one or more of the following areas: 1) forensics related to toxicological procedures involving alcohol/drugs techniques; 2) action programs including law enforcement, training and education, legislation, public information, intervention efforts; 3) scientific research and studies of alcohol/drugs in transportation or workplace safety; 4) legal matters involving the prosecution, defense, adjudication, or research of alcohol/drug related cases.

RULES:Nominations must be submitted to the International Association for Chemical Testing, Inc. through its Board of Directors by July 1 for consideration of presentation the following year.

Upon receipt of a nomination, the President will appoint five IACT members in good standing, giving preference to Dubowski and Rayburn Award laureates to serve as an Award Jury. The jury will consist of a voting chair appointed by the President plus four additional members. Each nomination presented

Nominations must be made on the appropriate form available from the IACT, Inc. Board of Directors.

APPROVAL:Upon an affirmative endorsement of the Award Jury, the nomination will be further submitted to the IACT, Inc. Board of Directors for final determination of award recipients.

PRESENTATION:The award recipient is to be notified in writing by the IACT President as a means of official notification and to record and archive the nomination process.

The award recipient will be recognized at the annual meeting of the International Association for Chemical Testing, Inc., or an affair attendant to such annual meeting, or other time deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors.

The award recipient shall not be required to give a professional presentation or perform any other service at the time of the presentation of the award.

PUBLICITY:Publicity for the award will be provided by the International Association for Chemical Testing, Inc. Publication Committee.

AWARD:The award shall consist of a plaque with appropriate inscription approved by the Board of Directors.
