Council has received a report from a resident that your dog’s barking has been affecting them.
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with information on how Council deals with reports of excessive barking and to give you an opportunity, over the next 7 days, to rectify any aspects of your dog’s behaviour that is allegedly causing a nuisance to others.
It is alleged that your dog has insert nature of barking problem. To help you investigate your dog’s behaviour, I have attached a kit which contains:

You may also find information on the Dog & Cat Management Board website helpful.
I will inform the resident that you have been advised of their concerns and the need to address any nuisance behaviour by your dog over the next 7 days. If there is insufficient improvement in this time, Council will be compelled to investigate the matter formally.
Where a barking nuisance is confirmed, and the owner of the dog has committed an offence under the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995, Council may issue fines and /or a Control (Barking Dog) Order or take specified actions to control the dog.

Council acknowledges your application about a barking dog kept at insert address where dog is kept.
Council has written to the owner of the dog to rectify, over the next 7 days, any aspects of the dog’s behaviour that maybe causing a nuisance. The owner has also been provided with information on Council’s standard procedure for dealing with reports of excessive barking.
If the dog’s nuisance behaviour has not significantly reduced over the next 7 days you may contact Council for further investigation and action. As previously advised, Council will require your ongoing cooperation including completion of an incident diary and corroborating evidence should you need to take the matter further.
If after the 7 days the nuisance hasn't been reduced to an acceptable letter please contact me so that I can proceed further with your complaint. If I do not hear from you within 14 days Council will close the complaint at this time.
