POSITION TITLE:Residential Activities Supervisor – Lower, Boys and Girls Dorm C Shift
REPORTS TO:JR Courtright
JOB DESCRIPTION:Supervise and assign duties and work areas to staff. Assist, develop, prepare and facilitate training of new personnel and on-going pre-service and in-service training. Know the whereabouts of staff and students. Meet with students in group sessions throughout the school year. Discipline staff when necessary by following proper procedures. Complete incident report forms when necessary. Perform staff evaluations and documentation. Prepare reports and fill out forms following timeliness and procedures. Monitor and train staff on how to teach students on room cleanliness, hygiene, and appropriate apparel. Maintain contact and communication with residential staff, educational staff, support staff and parents. Maintain inventories and update general supplies and equipment. Conduct building, room, and area inspections. Maintain orderliness of furniture in all areas. Maintain informative, colorful and neat bulletin boards on a monthly basis. Follow emergency procedures for fire, storm, tornado drills and warning. Teach student appropriate self-help skills. Promote and stimulate nine dimensions of programs, projects, workshops, activities, recreational activities for students. Complete documentation for programming plans and student evaluations. Issue student discipline and enforce rules in a consistent manner. Plan, create, implement, and maintain positive reinforcement program for students and staff. Monitor and promote students’ academic development. Maintain contact and communication with Director of Student Life. Attend and participates in in-service trainings, workshops, and seminars. Apply knowledge learned from training. Attend IEP and/or case conferences to ensure the students’ development needs are met. Schedule staff for overtime. Perform other related duties.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma, plus three years of experience in residential care, or related area, including one year in a supervisory capacity
PREFERRED
REQUIREMENTS:AmericanSign Language skills.
SPECIAL
REQUIREMNTS:A background check will be conducted. Direct deposit and 6% Contributory Teacher Retirement is mandatory. All persons selected for employment must submit to a drug test as a precondition of employment. All hiring decisions are contingent on the selectee passing the drug test.
