4 November 2013

AXELOS and their official publisher, TSO (The Stationery Office), are proud to announce the launch of the ITIL Maturity Model and Self-assessment Service. The full ITIL Maturity Model and Self-assessment Service comprises more than 4,000 questions across 30 questionnaires – one questionnaire for each of the 26 ITIL processes and four ITIL functions. Each questionnaire is made up of five parts:

·  process/function demographic questions

·  process/function-generic attributes

·  process/function-specific attributes

·  process/function outcomes and outputs

·  interfaces and inputs.

This service will assist organizations in tracking, delivering and improving their IT service management provision according to the ITIL framework. Subscribers will receive a maturity level to 0.2 of a decimal place and guidance on how to improve their maturity. Subscribers to the full self-assessment will be able to track their progress and, in time, benchmark it.

Subscribers to the full self-assessment will have access to the complete set of questions for each process and function, allowing them to fully assess and understand in greater detail the maturity of their ITIL processes and functions.

There is also a free high-level self-assessment available with a reduced set of questions to obtain a high-level indication of an organizations’ maturity.

Phil Hearsum, ITIL Portfolio Manager at AXELOS, says: ‘It gives me great pleasure to see the release of this quality product. In order to understand your organization’s maturity level and to provide a bench mark to plan your improvements, this tool will be invaluable. Whether you choose to self-assess or use the assessment as part of a consultancy, you will now be equipped to understand where you are and what you need to do to improve’.

Ian Fik, Account Manager at TSO, says ‘Building on the popularity and success of P3M3® (The Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management Maturity Model) TSO is pleased to launch the first official ITIL Maturity Model for AXELOS. The assessments have been authored by industry experts Colin Rudd and John Sansbury and delivered through TSO’s online subscription platform.

The ITIL Maturity Model was developed as a result of market demand to benchmark and understand organizations’ capabilities, and to leverage competitive and performance advantage from improved efficiencies’.
