ROLE PURPOSE:
The Senior Global Campaign Communications Manager is responsible for to developing and implementing effective communications and digital strategiesto increases brand awareness and engagement around Save the Children’s global campaign and advocacy work, including their global campaign, Every Last Child.
The post holder works collaboratively with colleagues in Save the Children member media, social media and related communications teams,the Global Media Unit, and with other functions of the Global Campaign Team and campaigns and advocacy colleagues across Save the Children, including mobilisation, advocacy and monitoring and evaluation, to develop integrated strategies.

Role Dimensions: this is ahighly demanding, fast-moving role that requires strong skills in executive level stakeholder management, communications strategy development, digital communications, project management, written and spoken communication, to deliver the message and increase engagement in our global campaign. The role will require an ability to work in a networked structure across functional and geographical boundaries.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :
- Lead the development of a communications strategy for the Every Last Child campaign, maximizing the communications potential of national, regional and international influencing opportunities, events, ambassadors and innovative social media engagement tools,ensuring the consistency and coherence of our external communication. This includes working closely with the Campaign Strategy Group, the Global Media Unit (GMU) and other Save the Children International communications colleagues, in both members and country offices.
- Own the strategic engagement of external partners and organisations to significantly increase the reach of our message and bring in cutting-edge digital and communications thinking to improve our execution, including working with the GMU to develop media partnerships.
- Manage communications and digital strategies for key global moments, ensuring that the campaign narrative is well reflected and that staff, including SCI and member CEOs,have aligned messaging, communications and digital products, and tools to effectively engage the public.
- Manage the development and work of the Global Campaign Communications Managerto engage and mobilise our international and member staff in the campaign, ensuring Every Last Child acts as a catalyst to unite Save the Children under one brand and voice. Support the Global Campaign Communications Manager with the development of messaging and oversee content for all external products.
- Develop and deliver thought leadership platform for SCI leadership as it relates to campaign narrative. This may include development maintaining editorial control of communications products including op-eds, blogs and social media content, etc.
- Oversee the production of global campaign communications products, tools, materials and publications for internal and external audiences.
- Manage Advocacy Office communications, ensuring their work is aligned with the global campaign and effectively communicated across media and social media with Brussels-based media manager.
- Strengthen Save the Children’s digital strategy, with a focus on advocacy and campaigning. This includes overseeing all web and social media content about advocacy and campaigning, as well as providing strategic oversight to the management and maintenance of Save the Children International’s website.
- Oversee the use of digital platforms to improve digital campaigning, as well as opportunities to campaign for and with children. This includes staying up to date on the most recent technology, and networking with peers to position Save the Children as an industry leader.
- Contribute to the development of the global steer for advocacy, campaign and communications, working closely with Advocacy and Campaign leadership team, ensuring communications is a strategic player in global moments.

QUALIFICATIONS
Educated to degree level in a relevant field (e.g. International Development; Politics, International Relations; global health). Master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to motivate, influence and negotiate both internally and externally
- Proven success in developing and implementing strategic campaigns, with a focus on media, digital, branding and communications
- Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality communications, products or tools targeting a diverse range of audiences.
- High degree of success in delivering high-quality digital strategies, including extensive experience with web and social media.
- Exceptional knowledge of global affairs and international contexts
- Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills including influencing and negotiation.
- Significant experience of building personal networks, resulting in securing significant new opportunities for the organisation
- Significant experience in developing and managing communications content and tools and making best use of user-created content.
- Exceptional written communication skills in English, with a proven ability to distil large amounts of information for diverse audiences; skills in other languages would be an advantage
- An understanding of advocacy and campaigns, and the role that communications plays in campaign impact
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with an ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple demands and competing priorities, while maintaining high quality standards
- Great ability to work as part of a team within a networked structure, and to maintain good working relationships with colleagues across functional and geographical boundaries
- Significant ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt work plans flexibly depending on external opportunities
