The Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association is the professional nursing association for nurses who provide health support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

DDNA’s Conference Education Committee is soliciting proposals for presentations at its 27th annual educational conference, which will be held June 7 – 10, 2019 – location to be announced at DDNA’s upcoming conference. We hope that you will be interested in presenting at this upcoming conference.

The conference committee is working to develop the program, to assure that the 2019 conference will offer exceptional education – with a little fun thrown in!

As the premiere resource for practicing I/DD nurses, DDNA is committed to providing quality educational programs that include cutting edge content with practical applications – and your presence and expertise are vital to providing that education.

The Conference Education Committee welcomes proposals from all individuals who exemplify best practice in I/DD nursing and who are committed to excellence in health support for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities. Proposals on topics in clinical care, education, administration, research, patient education, consultation and legal support in all practice areas of I/DD nursing are welcome.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us June 7 – June 10, 2019 at DDNA’s 27th annual education conference – where you can renew old friendships or make new ones, dine at some of the finest restaurants in the country, or simply enjoy some of the local flare!

Please complete the attached program proposal and submit it, along with your current resume’ or CV and an outline of the program content, to DDNA by August 31, 2018. (Note: You may submit your PowerPoint presentation in lieu of the program outline.)

CONTINUING EDUCATION PROCESS:

Attention presenters: DDNA will submit all program/presentation applications for Continuing Education (CE) approval from a CE accrediting agency. To facilitate the CE process, please return this application and the following, no later than August 31, 2018:

·  Presenter Information – including credentials and brief Bio or summary of the presenter’s expertise. See below.

·  Resume’ or CV for speaker/presenter – include a copy of the resume or CV for each presenter/speaker.

·  Program Information – including program title and description (abstract). See below.

·  Program Goals (limit to 3) – See Program Goals form on following page. Please note that the credentialing agency has requested the program goals address “how” the content/program will impact or improve the nurse’s practice. An example is included for your reference.
