REVELATION 12:1-5
1 ¶ And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

125 We got two things under consideration now. Watch this beast. It had four different characters in it.
And if you'll take Daniel 7, you who are marking it down, Daniel 7, Daniel saw the same vision eight hundred years before this, saw the vision. He saw those beasts, separate one from another in the beginning of the Gentile ruling.
And here they are, John seeing it, and the end of the Gentile ruling, all four of those beasts represented in one. Them same old devils, demons that possessed each kingdom of the Romans down through, and the Greeks, and so forth on down through the Gentile dispensation, has come right down and all met up in one beast. We'll find him directly and see who he is. Right. All those, leopard, lion, all that, the dragon... How many knows what the dragon is? The dragon represents Rome. Yeah.
Let--let's read that. That, that's kind of questioned in your mind. Give me Revelations the 12th chapter, just a moment here. Let's look here, Revelations 12. Now, look.
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman...
What does a woman represent? The church. This is the--this is the Bride here. This is the Church, the real Church.
... a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet...
130 Look, the moon under her... "The sun at her head, the moon under her feet." The sun was the dispensation of grace. And the moon was the dispensation of law. The
woman was the orthodox church, and she was standing over the law. The law was passing away, 'cause the law was a shadow of the good things to come. Is that right? The moon is only a shadow of the sun reflecting on the moon (is that right?), making the moon. And the law was under her feet; she'd done lived through that day. And notice how she was dressed here now.
... and under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: (The church is crowned with the doctrine of the twelve apostles. See?)
And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. (That was the orthodox church. Watch.)
And--and there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads... (See, keep that seven in mind now, "seven heads," always.)... seven heads... ten horns, and seven crowns upon his head.
Now, and his tail drew a third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. (Look!)
And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and the child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
131 The orthodox church standing there, the sun shining down, the doctrine of the twelve apostles (All right.), with the moon under her feet, the law, the shadow of the things to come... the Gospel Light's shining now; the law faded away when the Sun come out.
She was pained to be delivered, and she brought forth a Man Child, which was Christ Jesus, and He was caught up to God. But as soon... Here it is. As soon as the dragon, which was the devil, saw the woman ready to be delivered, he stood right by her to devour His Child as soon as It was born."
And when Jesus was born, the Roman Empire issued a proclamation to slay all the children from two years old down to get to kill Christ Jesus. And God pulled the wool over his eyes, and took Him down in Egypt and hid Him, as He did Moses the same way.
134There's that red dragon, the devil. Where's his seat at? In... Not in Russia; in Rome. And said, "The devil give him his seat and his authority, red dragon," not Russia.

E-24 Let's get over here just a minute. Turn with me back to, I believe, it's the 12th chapter of Revelations. Let's get over in that just a moment and see if we can't get just a little bit of something good right here to start with, thinking of shadow. Now, let's--let's read again now, you with your Bible.
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman... (What does woman represent in the Bible? Church.)... a woman clothed with the sun,... (That was her garment she had on. See?)... and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown and twelve stars:
And she being with child cried, in travail in birth and pain to be delivered.
Notice, a woman appeared in the sky to the--the vision of John the Revelator, and the--she was clothed with the sun. And the moon was under her feet, and she had twelve stars in her crown. Now, what does that symbol? Visions are symbols.
E-25 Now, the woman is the church, and the church was... The moon was under her feet. In other words, it was still shining. But she was above it, because she'd already become in a condition that she was bearing a child. She was travailing in birth. And the moon was passing away, and the sun was shining.
Now, the moon is... What makes the moon light, is the sun shining on it. It's just a shadow of the sun. And therefore, the moon had lived its day out, and the sun was rising. The woman wasn't clothed with the moon; she was clothed with the sun. It was a Gospel church coming into existence.

Now let us read Revelation 13:1-4, and compare this with Revelation 12:1-5.
Revelation 13:1-4,
"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion; and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat and great authority.
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"
Revelation 12:1-5,

Satan and his Satanic religion are in both of these beasts. In Revelation 14, the beast that was wounded unto death but lived again is imperial pagan Rome that fell to the onslaught of the barbarians and thereby lost her temporal power. But she regained it in papal Rome. Do you see it? The nation that ruled by crushing all and which became the strongest empire ever known, was finally wounded to death. Her power was gone physically as to control by armies etc. But under Constantine she came back to life, for papal Rome has infiltrated the whole world, and her power is absolute. She uses kings and merchants and in her deadly religious and financial strength she is governing as the goddess of this present age. She is also the dragon that stood waiting to devour the man child. Herod tried to kill the Lord Jesus and failed. Later Jesus was crucified by Roman soldiers, but now is caught up to the throne.

Now along with what I have just said, recall the vision of Daniel. The last part of the image, the last world power was in the feet. That was iron and clay. See the iron is the Roman Empire. But now it is no longer solid iron. Clay is mixed in it. Yet it is there and running world affairs in both the democratic nations and the more despotic ones. The Romish church is in every nation. It is mixed up in it all.

34 Did you notice in Revelations 13? All the other beasts had come up out of the sea, waters; Revelations 17:17 said, "The waters which thou sawest is thickness and multitudes of people." All the other beasts, they come up out of the water, thickness and multitudes of people. But when the United States come up, "It come up out of the earth where there was no people." And remember, when it come up, it looked like a little lamb.
Now, a lamb has two horns, and that's civil and ecclesiastical powers. But when they've united, remember, then that lamb spoke like the dragon did before him; and the dragon was Rome.
When the dragon stood before the woman to devour her child as soon as it was borned, the red dragon... Who stood before the woman Israel to devour the child as soon as it was born, and sent out a persecution and killed all the children from two years old down? "Rome, the dragon, stood at the woman to devour her child as soon as it was born."

30 Now, the reason for this... I brought down some little notes from my last few messages. And this morning I want to lap over, because this is on magnetic tape that will go all over the world, many nations. And always the reason I lap it back, is perhaps someone would hear the tape for their first time and would not be able to understand what I was meaning when I refer back to something else.
We have been now for months in the study of the Book of Revelation, the revelation of Jesus Christ. We have come through the church ages. The first three chapters of Revelations was the church ages. Then John was caught up in the 4th and 5th chapter and was showed things that--that was to be hereafter. Now, on the 6th chapter he drops down into the earth again to see things taking place that will go from the 6th chapter, the 1st verse, until the 19th chapter and the 21st verse. In here comes in the Seals, the Plagues, the Woes, the locusts, the--the woman in the sun, and the casting out of the red dragon, the sealing away of the 144,000, and all these things.

166-4 {337} When Jesus was born, the red dragon in heaven stood at the woman to devour her child as soon as it was born. Is that right? Who was it tried to devour the child when it was born? [Congregation says, "Rome."--Ed.] See? There's the red dragon. Here's your prince. Here's your beast. See? There they are, every one of them, just the same. See? Devour the child... God caught it up into heaven to set on His throne. That's where Christ is now till the time appointed. See? Now, watch what he shall do.

204-4 {202} Now, but in the age after the Church goes home, he becomes a beast. He becomes the devil incarnate, the red dragon himself. Oh, my. Can't you see what I mean? He's incarnate in his people then. He's got his people bound by his power. The false prophet has prophesied them right into it, give them over to strong delusions to believe a lie and be damned by it, denying the Word with a form of godliness.
God works His place in a trinity: justification, sanctification and incarnate Himself in His people with the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Same thing. The devil's just in a type after Christ. Oh, Satan incarnates himself.

91 Go back to Daniel again, the iron and clay in the feet; the iron never ceased, from the knees down to the end. And anyone knows that Russia wasn't even known of then. It was Rome. The red dragon was Rome. It's always Rome. And that iron never changed to something else, from Rome to something else; it remained Rome. And the beast is Rome!
92 And the Rome had a religious system whose deadly head... or deadly wound killed him in his head, but he was revived again, from pagan Rome to papal Rome. And now they're to make an image to it, out of the beast that comes up out of Revelations 13.
Did you ever notice? This nation is numbered thirteen, and appears... I don't say this is... It's--it's strange, though, that it would happen mathematically, ma-... just exactly in order with the Scripture. It's found in the 13th chapter of Revelations, this nation.
93 All the other beasts come up out of water, which is thickness and multitudes of people, the Bible said; but this little beast come up out of the earth, where there was no people. Yet, he was a lamb, freedom of religion; then he spake like a dragon, and united himself with the power and done all that the dragon did before him. Exactly. So there you are. It's--it's just got to be that way. No other way of getting around it.
And this woman set upon the beast with seven heads. And we know about the seven hills, and so forth, as the Bible said it would be. There is no mistake. There is no chance for a mistake. See?
And notice then, we find out, that she was a "MOTHER OF HARLOTS." See? And mother and daughter unites together again in friendship. Where, once, the daughter run away from the mother, to try to live decent, for her mother was so low-down and ornery till the girl left home. Uh-huh. But now, since she's begin to get a little age, she, and doing so many evil things, herself; she sees her mother, she thinks her mother was right, so she is forming a system of her own. See? Exactly.
Uniting denominational, Protestantism, fulfills exactly what the Scripture said of Revelation 17. "All, whose names were not written in the Lamb's Book of Life, was belong to her." One or the other, either the beast or the image of the beast. The Bible said so.
