2.Panel Size: [1220 x 2440 mm]> <[4 x 8feet]
3.Color: [Brushed Champagne.] [Brushed Copper.] [Brushed Stainless Steel.]
2.3ACCESSORIES
Select one or more of the following attachment methods as required for the project.
A.Adhesive: [PB-FSA High Performance Acrylic].] [Type recommended by panel manufacturer to suit application to specific substrate.]
B.Adhesive Tapes: Doublesided foam-type, as recommended by manufacturer.
C.Substrate Primer and Sealer: [Enamel primer,] [______] type,as specified in Section [099050.] [099110.]
Mechanical fasteners if used, must be corrosion resistant, of type and size recommended by the panel manufacturer. Special decorative nails and screws should be specified here. Depending on the fastener type, pre-drilling of the finish tile/panel may be required.
D.Mechanical Fasteners: [Stainless steel] [Aluminum] [Plastic] [screws] [decorative nails], Type [______].
Part 3Execution
3.1EXAMINATION
A.Section 017000: Verify existing conditions before starting work.
B.Verify that substrate surfaces are [primed and] ready to receive work, and conform to requirements of [panel] [tile] manufacturer.
Verify that the substrate surface flatness tolerance is covered in the respective section. Renovation work may require repair work to achieve the flatness requirements described in the paragraph below.
C.Verify flatness tolerance of surfaces does not vary more than <[3] [6] [____] mm> <[1/8] [1/4] [____] inch in 10 feet> in <3 m> <[10 feet]> nor vary at a rate greater than <[1.5] [____] mm/300 mm> <[1/16] [____] inch/ft >.
3.2PREPARATION
Delete the followingfour paragraphs if surface preparation is to be specified in Section 099110.
A.Fill cracks and smooth irregularities with wallboard compound or spackling; sand edges smooth with fine grade sandpaper.
B.Remove electrical, telephone, and [______] wall plates and covers.
C.[Apply [one (1) coat] [two (2) coats] of primer sealer to porous substrate surfaces. Allow to dry.]
D.Ensure substrate surfaces are clean, dry, smooth and free from dust, grease, and wax. Vacuum clean surfaces free of loose particles.
Include and edit the following paragraph for full sheet applications. Not usually required for tile.
E.Use isopropyl alcohol two-cloth cleaning method for impervious surfaces and [panel] [tile] backs for full surface adhesive bonding.
3.3MEASUREMENT EDGES AND BENDING
A.Measure areas to be covered; lay-out [panels] [tiles]. Using a temporary marker, transfer measurements to [panels] [tiles].
B.Plan for bends, corners or edge treatments before cutting.
Small radius bends are achieved by "V" routing and folding. A flatter, wider cut will result in a smoother bend.
A.Inside and Outside Corners: Use a router to create a [V-channel] [flat channel] on back side of [panel] [tile]; remove back layer of aluminum and composite core.
B. [Rout edges and bend.] [Route edges and leave for bending after installation.] Add <[6] [10] mm> <[1/4] [3/8] inch> to panel measurement for rolled edges.
C.Use cardboard pattern as a guide to transfer cutting lines for pipe openings and other irregularities to [panels] [tiles].
3.4CUTTING
A.Use circular or table saw for straight cuts; jigsaw or coping sawfor circular cuts or cutouts.
Include either of the following paragraphs (but not both) for full sheet panels. Include the second paragraph below, only for tile work.
B.[For full sheets,] use cutting blades with carbide-tipped or high-speed steel, made for cutting non-ferrous metal.
C.[For tile,]use a brick set chisel and utility knife for straight cuts.
1.Measure and mark cut lines with a marker on protective film.
2.Using a straight edge, score along entire tile using a utility knife.
3.Alternate with a chisel and utility knife to deepen score; bend back and forth until tile separates.
4.Use fine-grit sandpaper or small metal file to debur edges of new cut panels.
3.5INSTALLATION
A.Install adhesive and metal [panels][tiles] to manufacturer's written instructions and as follows:
[OR]
B.Install metal panels using [screws] [nails] [around perimeter of panels] [spaced at <[___] mm> <[___] inches> o.c.] [In pattern indicated on Drawings]. Drill pilot holes first.
C.Apply panels from inside corner, working outwards and upwards.
D.For installation of panels around a focal point, build out symmetrically from both sides of the focal point.
For installation of panels Use the following paragraph for adhesive applied panels.
E.For installation of panels remove protective film on back side of panel and clean with rubbing alcohol. Apply adhesive to manufacturer's instructions for proper "set-up" technique.
Use the following paragraph for self-adhesive surfaces. Backing sheets present a slipping hazard and should be disposed of immediately after removal.
F.For installation of tiles, peel backing from tile and align into correct position. Dispose of slippery backing sheets as work progresses.
G.With asoft cloth, apply pressure evenly across [panels] [tiles]to remove excess air.
H.Temporarily brace larger panels using clamps or removable painter’s tape when using slow-drying adhesives.
I.Following manufacturer's instructions, bend exposed edges after adhesive has set to achieve desired finish.
Delete the following paragraph for self-adhesive tiles.
J.Remove excess wet adhesive residue with damp sponge or cloth while still wet and visible.
K.Wipe clean with dry cloth.

B.Protect finished [panels] [tile] from damage of other work.
3.8SCHEDULES
The following article will assist in preparing a schedule when different s,tile and panel sizes or tile layout patterns are required for the project. The following schedule includes are EXAMPLES only. Edit the paragraphs below to create a schedule for the components specified in this section. Do not repeat statements that may exist on drawings.
A.Kitchen: Tiles– Brushed Champagne; Herringbone pattern.
