FASHION on FILM 2014

Official Rules

The Project: Create a short film on an aspect of the Fashion industry. This project could be a music video, art film, documentary or narrative but must have local fashion as a theme. To help, the Sac Fashion Week has many compelling designers, models and subjects to choose from. Film makers are encouraged to attend a special workshop for full details or go to http://www.californiafilm.net/group/fashion-on-film to network. Find your own subject or work with CFF and SFW to find one now. We will introduce potential film teams who wish help to fashion talent to create a compelling narrative film to screen with the Sacramento Fashion Week 2014.

1.  Shoot Dates: ends, February 1st 2014 when all films are due back to CFF. Note: Only films that meet the deadline will be eligible as officially part of the competition.

3. Each team will have one “Director” legally responsible.

4. All Team members must be volunteers.

5. Finished films must be a minimum of 4 minutes in duration, and a maximum of 7 minutes in duration including ALL credits. End Credits won’t exceed 30 seconds in length <NO ACCEPTIONS>. The finished film must be NTSC mono or two channel stereo in 16x9 aspect ratio and submitted on one of the following: DVD (no copyguard).

6. Discs should have: 30 seconds of black after the last frame of film, and a visible writing on disc with:

·  Director’s name

·  title of film

·  Total running time of film (including credits)

·  contact phone number, email

7. The director must submit a signed, copy of this agreement to be considered for the project.

8. By signing our agreement, the director agrees they have all talent/crew/music/location liability releases necessary. All liability for failure to secure releases rests with the director. For location releases within the city of Sacramento contact the film commission at:

9. Organizers will refuse any film that can be considered pornographic or that depicts graphic sex and/or violence.

10. All Films must include the following credit:

"This film made as part of Fashion on Film and the Sacramento International Film Festival © 2014"

12. Films will be forever usable by the California Film Foundation, Sac Fashion Week and the Sacramento International Film Festival either all or in part for any activities including marketing, sales, and exhibition.

13. All selected films are eligible to compete for a special award as juried by a panel of judges.

14. SFF makes this project available to anyone FREE of submission fees. The festival will select films at its sole discretion. Completion of a film is no guarantee of being selected. Organizers can and WILL disqualify any project that fails to meet these terms.
