Player of The Year Award

The top point earner for each course* will compete in the New Era Cup for the Player of The Year Award in the same group. The lowest net score that day will be crowned with the NEGMGA Player of The Year Award. If the top point earner cannot play the day of the New Era Cup, then another player will be added for that team, but they will not be playing for Player of The Year Award.

Each Course will have a team in the New Era Cup except Golf Club of Dublin & Clover Valley Golf Club will team up to make 1 team.

Points are earned based up participation and final placement for each event. Please check the bottom of each Event Page for the New Era Cup Points to be earned for that event.

Limited Members Participating in NEGMGA Events

Limited Members are eligible to compete in events with a paid Green Fee at Registration. Please look for the Limited Member Option when signing up for events. If you don’t want to pay this fee, then you must become an Unlimited Member.

Handicap Reminders

All Members are expected to post their score following their round of golf. This can be done at the handicap computer in the golf shops or online at

Active Season for Posting Scores in Ohio: March 15thto November 30th.

Speak with the golf shop staff at your home course about activating your GHIN Handicap. If you are an Unlimited Member, the GHIN Handicap Fee is included in your membership. If you are a Limited Member, you will need to pay $45 for the GHIN Handicap Fee for the season.

Tournament Scores will be posted by the Golf Staff, not the member. Therefore please do not post your scores for the NEGMGA Events.

This year the Golf Staff and Handicap Committee will be randomly reviewing daily score posting. We will compare the tee sheet with scores posted for that day. If you have any questions or concerns regarding handicaps, please email JR Borchers at .

Equitable Stroke Control (ESC)

ESC was put in place by the USGA to limit the Highest Score a player may post for any hole. It varies by handicap. The following chart outlines the MAXIMUM POSTABLE SCORE for any hole for each handicap range.

-2-Man Scramble, please state your partners name at sign up

-Individuals will be paired up to create a 2-Man Team

-2 Divisions, decided on scores after the round of Gross & Net, a team can’t win both divisions

Times

-Players are responsible to set the date and time of each match. If a match has not been played within the allotted time, a coin toss will determine the match winner.

Format

-Match Play. Handicaps will be played off of the lower ball in the match where applicable

-You may play in more than one Division

Brackets & Seeding

-There will be a Scratch Division, Men’s Handicap Division, and Senior Handicap Division (60+)

-Participants in each Division will play the same set of tee markers

-Participants will be seeded according to the results of the Bracket Drawing the day of the Opening Day 2-Man Scramble.

-Default courses will be established. If the players cannot agree on another course to play, then they must play the default course stated for that round.

Format

-Modified 4-Player Scramble. Sign up as an Individual.

-All players will hit their tee shot, like a normal scramble. From there, the team will take the best two tee shots and pair off into 2-man teams (must keep the same 2-man teams until that hole is completed). If your shot is selected off the tee, then you must play from that point and have another teammate join your 2-man team scramble that hole. Each team will finish the hole in a scramble format. The team will have 2 scores per hole. It is up to the 4-Player team as to what the 2-Player teams are each hole, and the teams can change each hole if they desire.

-$20 Optional Team Gross Skins: Lowest combined total per hole

-2 Divisions, decided on scores after the round of Gross & Net, a team can’t win both divisions

Handicaps

-Teams will be handicapped with taking the Total Team Handicap and dividing it by 4 (the number of players in the group).
