Positions as a trainee for a chemist

with Novartis Pharma AG, Switzerland

Two 12 months positions are available for a chemist or a pharmacist within our Research, at Center for Proteomic Chemistry/ Lead Finding Platform Basel in the Novartis Compound Archive.

Possible trainee periods are as below, but can be discussed.

-  From March 2014 to February 2015

-  From July 2014 to June 2015

Duties consist of

- Chemical registration of compounds and metabolites into database including structural input using various chemistry software on PC and NT server.

- Classification of compounds according to structural information (stereochemistry, solubility...).

- Compound handling according to SOP’s (standard operation procedures)

Requirements are

-  near to Master of Science or equivalent knowledge

(At least B.Sc. papers needed for the Swiss authorities)

- Age < 30 years

- Good knowledge of organic chemistry

- Interest in computer work

- Capability to work independently and in an international team

- prepared to start as agreed and to stay for 12 months

(Application for working permission takes about 8-10 weeks)
