St. Vincent October 2017 E-Newsletter
October’s Virtue is Respect
"Love one another warmly as Christians, and be eager to show respect for one another."
"The first step to achieving respect is to love and respect yourself. "
"Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread in it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect." - Chief Seattle
Let your actions be guided by Jesus' words, "Respect your father and your mother; and love your neighbour as you love yourself." Matthew 19:19
Everyone wants to be treated with consideration and thoughtfulness; we need to remember to treat others in this respectful way.
Welcome to October! September is now behind us and the school year is well underway.
This Newsletter will provide information about items of current interest and reminders about important issues. We will keep you informed through bulletins and classroom notices. Please feel free to call the school with any questions or concerns you may have. October is shaping up to be a busy month. Of special importance is ourThanksgiving Mass on Tuesday, October 11th, 2017 at 9:30 a.m.
Please join us, if you can, as we come together as a school community to give thanks for the many blessings we receive.
Yours in Catholic Education,
Mrs. A. Provenzano
Allergy Alerts
WATCH OUT FOR LIFE-THREATENING ALLERGIES
Many children have allergies. A few, however, is life threatening. Some children, for example, are severely allergic to peanut butter. Even a tiny bit can be fatal within minutes. Nuts, shellfish, fish, eggs, milk and animal dander are also known to cause severe reactions. Knowing that your child has allergies and knowing how to deal with them is your best defence.
If your child has any known allergies, please tell us. With your help, we will do our best to prevent exposure to known allergens and to make sure that all of our students are safe, healthy, and able to concentrate on learning. If you would like further information about our policies and practices, please contact the school at 577-3823.
