Developed in 1990 and purchased by its equity members in 1993, Panther Creek Country Club home of the LPGA State Farm Classic combines a championship golf course, stunning facilities and an activemembership. An elegant clubhouse includes restaurants, private meeting rooms, a lower-level banquet facility, pro shop and locker rooms, all designed to promote a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere. Surrounded by beautiful homes, Panther Creek Country Club is conveniently located on Springfield's growing southwest side, minutes from the Capitol.Continual updates to theclubhouse and grounds include the addition of an indoor golf practice and swing analysis facility in 2009 and addition of a 2 level 4000 square foot patio overlooking signature holes 9 and 18 in 2010. The Club has developed comprehensive social and athletic programs for men, women and children and strives to be responsive to its family-oriented membership.Designed by Hale Irwin, Panther Creek features a 7,244-yard par 72 golf course with a course rating of 74.2 and a slope rating of 128. With five sets of tees, the length of the course ranges from 7,244 to 5,496 yards. A fully-staffed pro shop overlooks the best year round practice facility and range available in Central Illinois. A full tournament schedule includes events for men, women, couples and children.Panther Creek offers many venues for dining from a semi-formal dining room, quaint Grill Room or casual Panther Den. A spacious 3600-sq-ft. Banquet Room is located on the lower level of the clubhouse and leads to the spacious patio. For smaller gatherings, they have two elegant meeting rooms available on the main floor of the clubhouse. A 25-meter, 8-lane heated swimming pool and children's wading pool with separate locker rooms and snack bar are adjacent to the clubhouse. Life guards are on duty daily throughout the summer and provide swimming lessons as well as a competitive swim team program. Two tennis courts, located near the pool, complete the outstanding athletic facilities at the Club. Tennis lessons are available to members during the summer. The gross dollar volume of the club is $5 million dollars with food & beverage revenues of $1,196,000.

The Club will be transitioning to a true General Manager concept with the goal of achieving a more unified and centralized operation. The successful candidate will be a proven businessperson with exceptional financial and budgeting skills that have yielded results. In particular, the candidate must enjoy and embrace the challenge of strong fiscal management, especially during these economic times, while at the same time, delivering the quality and range of service to enable the Club to attract and retain members. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressively more responsible club management positions. The prospective general manager must be a charismatic, passionate professional and have outstanding membership relations and communication skills. The candidate must have a proven record of strong operational management skills and will have an impeccable career path ensuring the highest standards of operation and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have excellent food and beverage experience and knowledge of all areas of club operations. The club is looking for a “visionary, take-charge, can-do type” person who understands trends in the private club industry and can help position the Club to successfully take advantage of these trends. The general manager will exhibit creativity in providing programs for the membership to enjoy participating in and will take a sincere interest in member and guest satisfaction. The new general manager will enjoy inspiring department managers and employees and will demonstrate outstanding leadership skills in team building, employee motivation and service training. The ability to work well with the Board and Committees is desirable. Membership retention and recruitment skills are considered essential. He/She will be confident, creative, enthusiastic, energetic, engaging and a highly visible manager to the staff and membership. Strategic planning skills are considered very valuable. The candidate will be active and well respected in his or her local and national CMAA organization. A college degree and the CCM designation are preferred.
