GUIDELINES

The Professional Teaching Council of Western Australia will hold their Annual OutstandingProfessional ServiceAwards,incelebrationof World Teachers’Day,on Wednesday 26th October 2016.

Theseprestigiousawardsrecogniseindividual member’s outstandingprofessionalcontributionto education in Western Australia, madein a voluntarycapacitytotheir professional teachers’ association. Thisprovidesthe opportunityforeachfinancialmemberassociation of PTCWAto considertheworkoftheirmembersandnominateaworthyrecipient.Inaddition,theProfessional

TeachingCouncil ofWesternAustralia 2016Media Awardwill be presented.

The ProfessionalTeachingCouncil ofWesternAustraliaaimstopromoteprofessionalismin teaching throughanenhancement oftheworkofprofessionaleducationassociations.Itprovidesawider contextforthework ofprofessionalassociationsthroughfacilitationofnetworkingand communication between individual associationswhilstproviding a forumfor thediscussion of broad educationalthoughtandcurrentissues.

Guidelines:

1. Nominationswillbeaccepted fromfinancialmemberassociationsforconsiderationbythe

PTCWA AwardsCommittee.

2. Tobeeligible forconsiderationtheindividual beingnominatedshould:

bea current orpastmember ofthenominatingassociation;

havemadean outstanding voluntary contributiontothe association’ssupportof

teachersandeducationinWAoveranextendedperiod of time as,forexample:

ocontribution to theassociation’s publicationseither atapersonalor professional level(eg: served as journal editor, havedevelopedteaching resources,havewrittenarticles,etc)
