  1. Engineering Innovation at Johns Hopkins University Summer Program – a summer version of a freshman engineering course offered to high school students. This semester-long course has been condensed into 4 weeks. During those 4 weeks, students will complete lab activities, prepare a presentation in response to a Request for Proposal, learn about engineering economics, write a research paper, build a spaghetti bridge, and have the opportunity to earn college credit.   1. University of Maryland, College Park Jump Start 2017 Summer Program -

Jump Start is a week long summer immersion program for sophomores and juniors interested in Biomedical Science. The program invites a limit of 50 students to participate and NDP has had participants every summer for the past 9 years. You will spend one week conducting experiments on the university’s state-of-the-art equipment. The sessions are: Session I – July 17-21 or Session II – July 24-28.   1. Virginia Tech Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity

Building Leaders for Advancing Science & Technology - A dynamic three-day residential summer experience on the campuses of Virginia Tech, Old Dominion University, and the University of Virginia for rising 9th and 10th graders.Virginia Tech sessions run from July 16 – 19 and July 23 – 26, 2017. Computers and Technology at Virginia Tech is a two-week residential program held June 25 – July 8, 2017. It is designed to develop and sustain the interests of women in engineering. The deadline for application is March 27, 2017. For more information, please visit

Pre-College Initiative - The program consists of a series of five daylong events held on Saturdays over the course of the academic year. Activities include lab tours, demonstrations, hands on activities and presentations designed to help students prepare for the college application process. Dates for the spring semester are February 25, March 18 and April 22, 2017. There is a one-time $10 registration fee when students apply. Transportation is not provided.

VCU Arts Pre-College Summer Intensive - Our three week Pre-College Summer Intensive residency program is an opportunity for high school students to immerse themselves in: portfolio development, sequential drawing and comics,filmmaking,photography, fashion, mixed-media, graphic design, or theatre –July 9 – 28, 2017.   1. Gettysburg College Summer Program –Opportunities available for high school sophomores and juniors. More information on each class is listed below.
  • Camp Psych - Campers will get hands-on experiences that introduce them to research in psychology during this fun, challenging, and engaging introduction to the field.
  • Campaigns and Elections Academy - This program is designed for highly-motivated students who have a strong interest in American campaigns and elections. Participants learn about the origins and evolution of democracy in America and gain hands-on experiences related to modern political campaigns. *Application will go live in early February.
  • Writing Camp - Students gain an in-depth introduction to all four genres of creative writing: fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and writing for stage and screen.
  • 3D Object Modeling and Printing Camp -Students will study 3D object modeling and printing starting with the basics of a 3D printer. After learning the fundamentals, they will practice designing objects.
  • Adruino Camp - Students will use their creativity and the easy-to-learn Arduino to create projects with its sensors, motors, speakers and displays, to create projects that interact with them and their world.
  • Civil War Institute Summer Conference - The High School Student Scholarship component of Gettysburg College's annual Civil War Institute summer conference provides high school students an opportunity to explore the history of the Civil War era on the site of the war's most decisive battle.

  1. Princeton University – W.E.B. DuBois Scholars Institute -The Institute aims to sharpen students’ research and quantitative analysis skills, as well as writing, verbal, and critical reading skills through a diversity of high-level academic courses.
