Summary of Major Accomplishments:

Systems Development: A very key player in the design, development, and deployment of a multi-server system to support the Strength Management and Reporting application for the U.S Army using Cognos Enterprise Series 7.Was also the sole person representing a legacy mainframe system in developing an application to use IBM MQ Series in migrating to a client-server application based on Unix. In a very short span learnt and moved from one technology to another, and keeping the pace.

Support Services: There were times of crisis during the initial deployment of the Reporting and Analysis application for the U.S. Army, due to an underlying bug in the product, and Naveen was very instrumental in coordinating with the vendor support, customer, and project leadership in resolving the issues. Naveen’s problem solving skills have proved time and again in the quick resolution of various production issues on numerous systems.

Leadership and Innovation:Often took additional responsibilities in helping the team meet the objectives and succeed. Naveen who was involved in a process with one of the customer’s saw an opportunity for improving the process and quickly assembled and lead a small team of developers in developing a prototype of a web-based application that saved time and improved accuracy of the information that was flowing through the process prior to the change.Naveen is an active member of a community of thought leaders in his current company.

Client: U.S. Army (Feb ’01 – Present)

◙Has played a lead role in Architecting, developing, designing test plans, and deploying a web-based reporting application using COGNOS BI tools for Army Human Resource System’s (AHRS) enterprise wide Data Warehouse. Has improved the performance of ETL code by coding a number of PL/SQL programs. Also performed system administration of Windows 2000 Adv Servers, wrote the development standards, and documented the installation and configuration procedures for the tool and the application. Developed web reports and data cubes for analysis of Army personnel strength across various echelons of the organization.

◙Was responsible for development of a web-based application for reporting personnel strength of a multi-component unit (MCU) of the Army. Development was done using Java, JSP, and HTML on a WebLogic application server. Design was done using Rational Rose tools.

Client: AmericanCollege Testing (Jun ’00 – Dec ’00)

◙Acted in the capacity of a technical team leader and was primarily responsible for requirements gathering, design (database and front-end), coding, and testing of a web-based application. The application was developed to track training courseware from multiple vendors supported by American College Testing (ACT). This initiative created business value for the client by providing better data collection and reporting features. The development was done in ASP, HTML, SQL Server 7.0 and JavaScript using tools like Visual Interdev and Crystal Reports.

Client: AT&T (Dec ’98 – May ’00)

◙Responsible for analysis, design, development and testing of bridging a mainframe based ordering system (TOPAS) with a UNIX based system (CADM) for AT&T. This project involved extensive use of MQSeries for mainframe, IMS DB and COBOL II. The project was a personal accomplishment because the effort was mostly individual and it was a great success for the client. Also worked in the production support team of AT&T's Tailored Journals and Accruals application. This involved troubleshooting (analysis) and performance enhancement. This batch oriented application uses COBOL II, DB2 and Easytrieve.

Client: AT&T (Nov ’97 – Dec ’98)

◙Worked as the only developer in the team on the critical Year 2000 date correction of a table management application (SA / CORE / DA / URDB) for AT&T. This project involved correction and testing of over 60 PL/I programs (each averaging 3000 Lines of Code), and 10 IMS databases.
